its funny too because Emerl's back story is completely skipped over even though it lead's to some important moments in the sonic lore, why the knuckles clan wanted the emeralds so badly that they'd defile a sacred land and why gun started to fear gearlds work so much they'd raid the arc leading up to the shadow story

While I disagree on the bit about the Knuckles clan (what with Chronicles not considered canon and there being a 1,000 year difference between Emerl's creators and the Knuckles clan), I wholeheartedly agree on how he ties into the ARK's lore. He also directly ties into Sonic Advance 3 and by extension IDW, with Gemerl being made using Emerl as a template.

I'm pretty sure Sonic Battle is a side game which is why Emerl was not mentioned, and I think Mother Wisp was only a final boss in the DS Version of Sonic Colors which I happen to own

Yeah unfortunately I don't think Sonic Battle is canon. While it did add a lot and perhaps was a better direction for the series at the time, a lot of things don't fit anymore, such as Shadow's arc in that game not really making sense to happen before or after the events of Shadow the Hedgehog, or Chaos and Gamma coming back. Also nothing in Frontiers references Emerl either, and that game is chocked full of callbacks and lore easter eggs.

To be fair, we still are somewhat on the fence about that. Him and his prototype being “consumed” is a very vague way to phrase it, leaving things up to interpretation. For all we know it might mean something along the lines of him not being dead but rather sealed inside the Phantom Ruby like Chaos was in the Master Emerald. We really can’t be sure

One bit of correction, Sonic doesn't live on South Island, he was born on Christmas Island, then when he was young, he decided to use his Biplane, the tornado, to travel the world. During one of the travels, before the events of Sonic 1, he encounters Eggman, and decides to pout a stop to his plans for world domination.

Having just learned there is a wholesome ending to the last game with Dr. Eggman learning the value of caring for someone and Sonic is able to focus on finding future personal growth. Dr. Eggman does deserve a War Crimes trial at the bare minimum tho, his crimes were global and near genocidal multiple times, but still, warms my heart to see that sick SOB liking the idea of being a Dad, not a Dictator.

Gotta say, that's probably the best video in this style, explaining the Sonic Lore and especially under a certain time, most of those trying to explain a resumed version of Sonic's lore under a certain time always have LOTS of errors and confusion But a reminder to everyone that these are just the major/most important points of the history of Sonic's World, telling just the plot of all the mainline Sonic games Beetween some of the mainline games we have other stories and spin-off games that expands on the lore (and some extern media which also adds to the universe) Like the Sonic Advances series and Sonic Battle, which introduces Cream, as well as exclusive characters with lore also involving the past like Emerl, which was created by one of the four great civilizations of the world and later also found by Professor Gerald during his time working with Project Shadow, and later with Emerl's demise that lead to the creation of Gemerl, a robot created by Eggman which at the end is reprogrammed by Tails and stays as a body guard at Cream's house Sonic Rush and Rush Adventure which introduce and expand on Blaze's dimension and the contrast beetween the Chaos and Sol Emeralds, while both Eggman and Eggman's version from Blaze's dimension which is actually an Eggman descendent from the future, Eggman Nega while showing more of her dimension in the second game and how she's the paralel of Sonic in her universe, as well as introducing Marine, Tails' paralel on her universe The Sonic Riders Trillogy, which also expands on the lore of the Ancient Babylonians, which created the Extreme Gears many years ago, and are also aliens from space which had to land on Sonic's planet because the engine of their ship when combined would create a Black Hole, then their temple/spaceship was burried under a desert and they started wishing upon shooting stars so they could one day return home, while in the present also being another Eggman plan to conquer the world in the form of a world Grand Prix and creating a fake company to sell robots all around the world so they could go rogue The Sonic Rivals duology, which are the games where Silver meets up with Sonic for the first time after the "rewind" on Sonic 06's events, and also expand on the Ifrit, a creature from other dimension which at some time was also studied by Gerald Robotnik Sonic Colors DS, which takes place simultaniously with the Wii version, where Blaze and Silver meet for the first time AFTER the events of Sonic 06 while still remembering having worked togheter in the past, and where Super Sonic fights against the Mother Wisp at the end which is a character that appears in later games like Team Sonic Racing Some media like the Sonic Channel monthly stories (the 2016 Sonic Comic, the 2021 Cover Stories and the 2023 Otherworld Comedy) and the IDW Comics, which don't have any major plot point so you're forced to read them, but they expand and show more of Sonic's world and all those characters, Sonic and his friends going out in adventures And many more games I didn't even mentioned And explaining how Angel Island floats, if I'm not mistaken it's exactly when Tikal seals herself inside the Master Emerald with Chaos, her doing the Master Emerald prayer not only seals her and Chaos, but also spreads the seven Chaos Emeralds around the planet and makes a huge chunk of the Mystic Ruins start floating Also important to note that the reason Dark Gaia splits apart and Chip loses his memories is because Eggman woke them up prematurely Also also, Classic Sonic is now once again, from the past, so Sonic Mania and Superstars happend for Modern Sonic prior to Sonic Adventure after Sonic 3 & Knuckles Also also also, Super Sonic 2 as it's called in the files also is called Starfall Super Sonic internally during development!

Sonic 2 takes place before CD. Literally confirmed by Naoto Ohshima himself no matter what Origins and Ian Flynn claim. Also you mention 06 (even tho it’s really not suppose to be canon anymore but for some reason is treated as such) but not the Rush games (where Blaze is introduced into canon) or the Rivals games (which properly reintroduces Silver into the canon). Now include Sonic SatAM, and the Archie and IDW comics... they honestly fit the timelime quite well, with the Archie ones explaining pre-Sonic CD, and the jump from Classic Sonic to Modern Sonic (I am talking about the Sonic and Megaman worlds collide, leading to the Genesis Waves that rewrite reality and changes all the characters to their modern versions) The Archie comics also go in-depth into the Sonic Unleashed story.
