The shows here are also amazing! And the shows will rotate to different themes, and different artists will rotate through, plus there are some staples. SDC & Dollywood are by far in a way the best parks I have ever visited, because they literally have everything I could ever want in a park. And even if ride lines are long, I just go to more shows, and I have just as much fun doing that. I love being able to go to Silver Dollar City any weekend I feel like it.

Man it sounds like you went on a crazy crowded day. I went for 3 days late in July (Sun-tues) and all 3 days were very low waits. 5 mins was my longest wait for TT. I rode MRF twice and waited 10-20 mins each time. Really the worst wait was Powder Keg with it’s one train ops and abysmal dispatch interval. It was 102-108 degrees when I went, and you’re right about finding water being an issue. We couldn’t drink enough water. The whole park is amazing and I can see why anyone would say it’s the best and most beautiful in the country.

I'm only 2 hours away from this park, and I love everything about it! It's true that Thunderation is a bit rough, but I've found that if you lean slightly forward and hang on to the grab bar in front of you, it's not bad at all.

Oh my gosh, the creator of Family Food watched my video. Welcome to the channel! SDC does seem to be a great home park to have, and I’ll keep that Thunderation advice on mind if I go back.

That is one of my most favorite places to go. The last time I went there was with my mom and that was over 8 years ago. And I went there when I was younger that was like what we did during the summer time was go to the silver Dollar City cuz that was our favorite place to go versus Disney world.

Powder Keg is the most terrifying ride in the park. Doesn't at all feel safe. Wildfire is tame. I can't believe I put it off for so long. Time Traveler- haven't found the guts to ride it yet.

@gettingthereblog Жыл бұрын
They are owned by the same company. Dollywood was called Silver Dollar City first. The Herschend brothers partnered with Dolly Parton and the park was re-named in the 80's. I've seen people post pictures of both interchangeably on social media, confusing the two. Especially around the holidays.

God your picky with signs
@ThemeParkAvenue2 жыл бұрын
It’s not really a huge deal. In park reviews, I aim to analyze every part of the guest experience so people know what to expect. Also, I should ask how you would feel if you saw a sign for a restaurant you wanted to go to, got out of your car, walked up to the restaurant, and it said the restaurant was another mile away from said sign?
@AdamSmith-gs2dv Жыл бұрын
Nah the signs are definitely an issue. That's why Outlaw Run doesn't get a line, no one knows it's back there because it looks like only the Barnstormer is there!
@LordLaroyalty2 жыл бұрын
The accurately nicknamed "Tunnel to Nowhere" on American Plunge came from the inaccurately named "upgrade" of 2008. They stripped the ride of almost all it's theming, made this new tunnel pitch black, made it longer, and added horrible banjo music that makes your ears bleed! This keeps most people away from the ride. The only people that ride it anymore are those that just want the ride credit or just want to get wet. SDC has Water Bottle Filling Stations. There aren't many yet, but everyone should learn where they are located and bring an empty bottle or mug with them. You can also bring in pop and food in a backpack or wagon, if you would rather drink canned pop. You can eat on the train, during a show, or at any bench/table. The train schedule greatly depends on the crowd level. Every 30 minutes is the best and what they normally try to do. If there is a big crowd in the park, they will TRY to do 20 minute departures by doing the short version of the show. That is the worst idea, in my opinion, but it is the most cost-efficient. They only run both trains on dats that are VERY EXTREMELY OVERCROWDED, like Memorial Day and Labor Day. They also run both trains for at least 2 hours, every night of An Old Time Christmas. If the crowds are not big enough then, they will put a train to sleep. Firefall is a S&S Shot Tower, NOT a Drop Tower!!! BIG DIFFERENCE!!! They start closing attractions when lightning is within 15 miles of the park. You ride out of Marvel Cave in a Cable Car, not a metal trolley.
@ThemeParkAvenue2 жыл бұрын
It seems I went on a crowded day, so that makes sense. I appreciate the information on American Plunge and I am surprised I didn’t know about the fill stations (unless I did but forgot about them even though I brought in a water). I assume you are a local or frequent visitor?
