I went to six flags with my wife many years ago. We saw a huge line for this ride but couldn’t see the actual ride at the time. We waited 2 hours for what ended up being the worst ride we’ve ever ridden on. Seeing this KZbin video brings us closure. We can move on with our lives and finally begin to heal. Thank you.

For anyone wondering what has happened since this video: La Ronde has cancelled their planned installation of the coaster as Vipère, as the coaster has disappeared from storage and the concrete footings were poured but later removed - probably for the best. Wonder Woman: Flight of Courage, a single-rail RMC Raptor, has been put up where First Flight (and Tidal Wave) used to stand and is using its queue building, obviously rethemed to Wonder Woman. EDIT: By "disappeared", I mean that the coaster's tracks and supports used to be just lying out in the open at La Ronde, but now they're nowhere to be seen. While it's theoretically possible that it has been moved or sold to another park, by far the most likely scenario is that it was sold for scrap.

A ride based on an R-rated series might be a tough sell, though, so maybe it could be an overlay of another ride that’s only broken out during later hours. “Hello, and welcome to Space Mountain: the Deadpool Experience. I have worked as a ride operator on one of these rides in Europe and I can tell you that we picked people to try and balance it, NOT to make it lopsided to "maximise the spin". If you load the cars uneven they might get stuck when they return to the station and if a ride operator doesn't spot it and turn it right side up, it turns into a maintenance nightmare. Worst case you could get two cars stuck, one at the waiting section and one at the top of the lift. So no, we didn't pick people to make it heavier on one side.

That sounds like a nightmare in general. I had a little ride op job as a teen in the late 2000s going into the early 2010s. We had a zip line with seats that had a 250lb weight limit because anymore than than, the seats dropped too low to bring the platform back in once the ride was over. I hated guessing or asking weight and I was only dealing with 1 to 3 people 😩

I have sympathy for those who accept jobs at amusement parks. Ferris Wheels have the exact same problem and the one at my local park is partially slowed *manually*. In other words, if the weight is undisturbuted evenly, the wheel is MUCH harder to actually stop. So, when a young woman operating the ride for the first time tried to grab the seat rail to let the customers off... The wheel took her some feet off the ground before it stopped.

The coolest part of the Batman ride was the actual entryway. It was your standard warehouse batcave setup, but in the middle of the room was a hologram of the batmobile. While queuing up for a ride one time, I reached "into" the hologram and pretended to rotate it; upon doing so the hologram actually rotated with my hand! The unit they were using must have had some sort of motion tracking, although no attention was ever drawn to this feature by the entry setup. Just a neat little memory from high school this video brought up. It was a pretty fun coaster too, a little short but my friends and I had season passes so we'd always go on slow days and ride it till we got sick when it first opened.

ok so one thing that i learned with this video is that there are "four-dimensional" roller coasters, but funnily enough, arent actually 4D for obvious reasons. one day this gave me an idea. i will create a real 4D roller coaster, that will travel in time and take you to the point in the timeline in which you've finished riding the coaster. overall, you will experience nothing and the entrance fee will be $100,000.

Two points to make. First, as far as marketing goes, treating rotational displacement as a dimension is relatively honest. Second, I'd be impressed if anyone made a roller coaster that _didn't_ travel through time (at one second per second, if you aren't measuring with an atomic clock).

I typically don’t comment on videos but this one gave me such intense flashbacks I had to share. It had to have been 2015, so after the throwing star had been filled in to reduce spins. My sister, my mom, and I all decided due to both the lack of line and the fact we had never rode Green Lantern before, we would give it a shot. Suffice to say, we never rotated once on that ride, and my sister blacked out as the ride entered into its final drop. My mom had severe bruising on her chest due to her body hitting the restraints. I, meanwhile, did not get injured but Green Lantern left such a mark on us that we still call it the worst ride we have ever been on

I just rode X2 for the first time a few days ago. I was feeling a bit anxious while waiting in line having heard about how crazy and possibly painful the ride is. My experience was that it was incredibly smooth and I had no had slamming even at the end part. I WAS sitting in an inside seat which apparently is smoother, but I'm sure one of your family members had an inside seat, so I'm not sure why some people have such a rough ride. I hadn't been to Magic Mountain for 15 years and X2 was the third ride I went on so I was also worried about getting banged around and feeling bad for the rest of the day in the park. The roughest ride I went on all day was my second ride, Viper. It doesn't seem to have held up so well over the years.

The restraints were also less than comfortable. With many guests complain about pain in the shoulders, and in some cases, hitting below the belt. " This is what I remembered most about the ride. My friends and I all got off the ride and immediately reported to each other how much pain our crotches and thighs were in. Only took one ride to discover this ride was bad.

I rode this in California in summer of 2013 with my graduating class. I had no idea anything about the mechanics of roller coasters, including the way weight distribution works, so I'll leave out all those details that I may not remember accurately besides me always being a small girl under 110lbs. This ride for me and the group I rode with, was the absolute worst coaster we have ever been on. Even getting off the ride and speaking with other students we realized NO ONE enjoyed it. It was hands down the most painful thing. Some of us had bruises on the tops of our thighs by the end of the night because of the lock-down mechanism that dug deep into our legs every time the coaster forced our bodies up slightly from the seat. Similarly, I developed the largest headache of my life at that point even though the ride was less than two minutes long. I remember screaming because of the pain and just wanting it to stop. Every turn that you see on the tracks resulted in all the blood in my body going straight to my head, and my thighs being constantly jammed against the lock-down. I was almost in tears because of it. I was afraid it would damage my love for the crazy types of roller coasters but I just had to believe they really messed up on this one. I'm so glad no one is defending its existence.

That ride malfunctions so often, I've never been on it because I don't trust it. It's broken down mid-ride MANY times, and that's just fucking terrifying. Same with the Scooby-Doo ride. It doesn't break down as often, but it's so fucking rough. Some of the dips are really sudden and can make your head be thrown into the seat, and also the section where it has the violent turns and it feels like you're about to fall off of the ride.

It truly felt like flying, far more than any coaster that preceded it. The host isn't kidding about the downtimes though. I remember finally arriving with my group to the front of the line, and just when it was our turn to board the ride had to be shut down. We elected to wait vs whatever token reimbursement the staff offered, and gleefully hopped on 30 minutes later. Worth it.
