Regarding a Ring of Fire incident: Many years ago I got on it and almost died. Before being remodeled into what is shown on this video, the ride's only safety restraint was a small bar over the waist. The bar was shared with the passenger next to you, in my case it was my cousin who was obese and I'm skinny. The ride leaves you upside down for a while and I started slipping because of our size diference and ended up dangling from my feet. Other people and I started yelling frantically at the operator that the bar was lose and I was falling out but he ignored us. I managed to grab on to something until the ride ended and didn't fall out. Some years later the ride came back with more secure straps like the one in this video. I googled "ring of fire incidents" and other people had similar dangling experiences.

The Toboggan coaster is totally underrated- it's hard to even describe the experience because it's so bizarre. Definitely check out the one at Little Amerricka if you can, as it's got a wild history to boot. Theirs is actually the 1969 Chance prototype model, thus why it doesn't have all the "themed" parts added on. It was one of the big attractions at Dogpatch USA until they went bankrupt, and then years later Lee Merrick bought the thing, which was basically scrap metal at that point, and then refurbished it beautifully. The whole park there is full of rides that are about as close to "factory new" as old carnival rides come, and the Toboggan is without a doubt the strangest!

Then the park closes, 1991ish? and I see it being dismantled following the auction. A few days later it shows up at Little Amerrika. Finally got to see one up close and ride it!

i know RMC wonder woman is considered the worlds first single railed roller coaster but wouldn't the coaster at 1:17 be considered the first?????

I remember riding in one Toboggan-like coaster when I was a kid. That drop right after the spiral actually hurt my neck!

I got so much nostalgia from the diesel one at Camelot. I spent so many hours on that ride as a child. So sad it had to close.😭

What about stand up coasters? The ones I knew of were both closed...shame but people did say it was terribly uncomfortable. I loved being able to stand while going threw loops, thrills to the max!!

1:35 Lol the park this ride is in is like an hour away from me and this is my family’s favourite ride. Never knew it was unique until now. It’s fun but gets boring really quickly. Now the square shaped rollercoaster with a twist on top, that is the actual reason to visit that park.

I've been on a Fireball-style coaster at a county fair! The one I'm familiar with was tire-launched everywhere but at the top, and it's one of my favorite thrill rides at small-scale parks and fairs. I absolutely love these rides, and they're up there with the Viking Ship and Trabant flat rides as my favorite small-scale rides. Unfortunately, we lost one of my favorite small-scale flat rides, a Falling Star rotating drop ride, at Michigan's Adventure in late 2010. I miss it dearly, nothing really compares to it. The closest I've seen is a large one that spins and rotates upside down while rocking back and forth, and one that holds about 16 or so people called the Brain Eraser that loops up and around, and flips the cars upside down horizontally as it falls vertically.

Sequoia Adventure was fun, but it's inoperative at the moment, and it's sad. I used to give it a try when the other coasters were too crowded ahaha
