It isn't that the cast don't care about enforcing the smoking sections. It's that they've been advised to STOP enforcing it for their own safety. When cast tried to enforce the smoking sections years ago, guests got violent and nearly abusive towards the cast.

From someone that went to Disneyland Paris atleast once a year for the last 20 years, I can tell you the castmembers and staff are way more friendly now than what it used to be. I remember a time barely any of them spoke English and refused to try. And this unfriendlyness you feel isnt only towards people from the USA, we are from the Netherlands and got the same treatment. It sucks that hotel didn't have AC, you would think this would be standard in this day and age. I agree that big thunder mountain, the castle, phantom manor and tower of terror are the best versions of the world. I honestly never really noticed the smoking, ill pay extra attention to it next time im over there!

I stayed at Hotel Chyenne, recently refurbed and had good air conditioning and trees! Loved it! I with I kad known about the Chez Remy place and had been able to get a meal there! Loved that each land had at least one "walk thru" exhibit... the Boot Hill area at Phantom Manor was a fun place to hang out and watch BTMRR. 🙂 I walked thru the Dragon's Lair every time, never thru front- haha! Le Tanier du Dragon! You can spin the center rock in the Laybrinth...it normally has the Dodo on top and when you spin the rock it simulates the dancing scene on the beach :-D I had to do the Queen of Heart's maze and get up in the castle...it was fairly empty when I was there and I hung out there a lot, too! There is a Statue of Liberty dedication diorama halfway up the Liberty Gallery, with curtains, and it's dark they recreate the dedication ceremony of the Statue of Liberty..as it was a gift from France...it's pretty cool!

As for rudeness, it is not necessarily rude, but different. There are many cultures in Europe that believe in not interacting with people unless friends. Also there is the factor of so many languages being spoken within a 4 hour travel radius, makes it hard

DLP is our "home park" as we are from the Netherlands. We totally agree that the smoking situation is bad. The fact that CM do not say anything, has to do with the rudeness of the guests (as they will verbally and even fysicly attack you if you say something). I did my intern ship in DLP for 5 months and started with an "I can change this by just being nice to people and asking nicely" and ended up in multiple very unsafe situations. This is why CM's do not say anything anymore and as per rules from the country it is not allowd to ban smoking if I understood correctly. The smoke is a thing but people actually walk with sigarets in their hands besides them and kids walk there with there pretty little heads at that hight. Really dangerous. Airco is not a thing here in Europe as far as I know. I don't think Hotel Chayenne has airco either. Rudness... I don't know if Americans are spoiled by "nice CM's" due to tipping culture but I personally think that the CM's in Paris are the same as the people in Paris (and most of France). And I leave it up to everybody who visits DLP to decide if you find that rude. I have my opinion ;-) .

Hallo! From Oregon coast, good comment, and yes, Hotel Chyenne does have airconditioning. I stayed in the Running Bear building, with a tree outside and loved it! I was there in the beginning of June, 2022 during that crazy heat wave. The Metro was always hot and sticky, but DLP (and Parc Asterix!) were Heavenly! I have never been to Netherlands parks, the museums in A'damm are enough to keep me happy for a week! 🙂

We only travels to DLP once during warm weather. We stayed at DisneyHotel New York because we knew we might want AC. We were inside the line at Rock and Roller Coaster and someone light up. People were quick to tell him to put it out. Next time spend some time in Paris. Try winter next time.

Phantom Manor,BT and Space Mountain were amazing and DLP is the most beautiful park I've been too The Night time shows were epic! As Disney resort Santa Fe was run down with holes in the walls, lifts not working and food was bad also staff were unhelpful and rude (I'm English so it's not just too Americans)

Agree with the AC issue. I stayed in Santa Fe years ago during April and it was fine. We didn’t need heating or air con. This year I travelled in June and did full on research into AC. I ended up choosing Marvel because it was the most refurbished when I booked. And the ability to walk back easily each day as well. And definitely the smoking thing bugged me. I did hear a few people get told off by cast members. But a lot of people got away with doing it anywhere. Also vaping in lines was the worst.

I loved your vlogs in DLP. I get to visit DLP more often as I am closer (UK), I have been to Florida twice. It fills my heart when I see Americans get excited about the Paris parks because they are so different. Yes, they have a lot of down sides (weather, smoking, not great food and some areas in desperate need of TLC) but I absolutely love it there. It's my happy place. I stayed at Santa Fe in February and was lucky to have a nice room and no need for air conditioning however my favorite hotel to stay in is Sequoia Lodge, which many people dislike because of the lack of plug sockets 😂 and outdated theme, personally I love it more for that reason, makes me feel like I am in a woodland cabin. I will be returning to Sequoia Lodge and staying club level in September and I have a reservation again for Santa Fe next February. Some times I stay off site but the shuttle buses are a nightmare so I wouldn't recommend this to someone who is visiting for the 1st time or has limited time in the parks. If/ when you return to DLP which hotel would you like to stay in?

Every time I've been to DLP , I always used an Air bnb which was about a 10 min walk from the parks. They're usually cheaper and good quality. I know that there are alot of air bnb's near where I was as its like a small village of flats with lots of people using Air bnb as it's close to Disney!!

I spend a good amount of time per year at DLP, i never ran into a rude castmember, never had to walk through a smoke cloud and never had a „bad“ room at Santa Fe (and this is the one I always stay at) 😂

Some good points there. We hate the smoking. We are British and have seen a lot of very rude staff. Some are very good but there are quite a lot of staff at the Paris parks with no customer service skills and actually very deliberately rude.

Fun fact: Santa Fe's ceiling fan is probably more effective than the 'AC' in the other hotels. There should be a higher setting of the fan, but it's hard to reach, haha! Problem with the AC in France is that they have very strict laws about it. Yeah, that's right. Actual laws. It can't go lower than a certain temperature (I believe it's 19C), but also is only allowed to actually kick on when it's 26C or higher outside, and the windows can't be open; if they're open, the AC shuts off. I run very hot so I am always (and I mean always*) melting at any Disney hotel, no matter whether Summer or Winter, even with the AC on. These laws are the same reason why 'going inside to cool down' doesn't work as well as it does in the US. The first second might be nice and cool, but then you realize it's not very cool at all, and you first gotta completely acclimatize before it starts feeling nice. The upside of that is less runny and/or stuffed noses from the constant chill and huge differences in temperature. * the only exception to this is when I've gotten so bone cold from an annual pass party (until 2am) that my legs radiate cold so instead of the blankets warming me, I create my own little fridge xD It's definitely still a good thing to make people aware of, but if they go into the other hotels expecting 'proper AC', they're still going to be very disappointed. Hello there ! If you had any “problems” with a cast member, or on the contrary, of you want to point out how good one of them treated you, please go to City Hall and make a Complaint/Compliment ! It’s better to keep the CM’s name in mind because it’ll be easier to give them the message wether it is bad or good! I remember when I had compliments, they were written by hand (or sometimes sent to guest relations’ email) and I keep a binder full of them, even though I’m not a CM anymore. It’s always a pleasure reading them and it brings me back to very very good moments shared with guests !

I generally find starting with “bon jour” is sort of like a magic key for getting better service. That and knowing a few simple phrases really helps.

I am currently visiting DLP. I have been coming here over the last 15 years and agree the attitudes of cast members are slowly improving but that said it is not uncommon to see a sour face or hear a grumpy response from CM's here in DLP. Really sad to say but these CM's need some heavy shower of pixie dust. I have experienced the service in WDW over the same time period, the magic shared to guests by EVERY single CM is awesome. Guest relations at WDW are top notch for sure. The best way to receive a similar customer service experience is when you book at club level which is available in Sequoia Lodge, Newport Bay Club, New York art of Marvel and Disneyland Hotel.

Being from the Netherlands I also experienced harsh cast members AND guests a lot of times. That's why I love it so much to go to WDW, it is way different. I think it's a European thing. Adrian, didn't you noticed ones waiting in line for an attraction the people behind you are always touching you, they're that close to you. That's always my number one irritation. Saying something about it will get you into trouble (believe me). Although DRP may have nice attractions, the atmosphere in the park and enthusiasm of the cast members is nothing, absolutely nothing in comparison with WDW!!!!! That DRP is in France has a pro and con: the drive is doable for being in France; the con is it is in France.

Try not to feel singled out as an American; Parisians are famously rude to everyone. I live in Scotland, where if you try to get on a train or a bus with a pram people will hold the door or offer to carry the pram. When my wife tried to get a pram onto the shuttle bus in Paris, people just pushed her out the way.

It's not bad, look at his films did you see anyone smoking? It's incredibly minor and it should not put you off. I barely notice it when I go to the park and I'm sensitive to it. Don't let you tubers who are overly dramatic dictate if you should visit... Look at the title of his studio's video as he says he's never going again then. Then ends the video with he would. It's about money, clicks and entitlement.

We have just returned from our 2nd trip to DLP. It is the prettiest park and has some of the best versions of rides, as you said. The Europeans are the rudest people there, 15 times I held doors open or stood aside without a single “thank you”. Unfortunately this has crept into the cast members. Crowd control for parades and the fireworks is virtually none existent and the smokers have no thoughts for anyone else! There is also sooooo much construction happening atm, it’s worse than Epcot was last year😂😂😂😂.

We are Canadian. We use air conditioning but I don’t think we set it to the same extreme cold temps as I noticed whenever travelling to the US. We currently live in Germany and have travelled to France quite a bit for holiday. I find the hotels that do have air conditioning don’t get as cold as the air conditioning units in NA. You are not going to get your room to 16 degrees at night, but could achieve 21. I could see it being a shock to people if they expect AC to blast if installed, but it’s not really the case here even with ac units

My only complaint was a couple people standing and blocking my view of the night show on the castle during the 30th celebration. I had found what I thought was a front row spot near the castle and waited almost two hours. It was roped off and didn’t appear anyone could be in front of me. But then the area in front of me filled up with handicapped people and their friends/families. When the show started I stood up and was instantly met with boos and scolds from people behind me. I assumed most people would have stood up. I sat down and then 2-3 people stood up from the section in front of me and partially blocked my view. I gestured toward an attendant and all he did was shrug and turned back around. He didn’t even ask them to sit down or anything. So my videos have a couple people standing and then I also realized one of the tall speakers was also blocking a part of the view. So the only thing I took away was the mid/top of the castle, fireworks, and the drones that made images.

We caught the Eurostar to the Disneyland train station. There were 8 of us (4 adults and 4children) plus 12 cases. We had a lot of luggage as we had travelled from Australia. Staff refused to help us with the luggage and pointed up the hill to indicate where the Park entrance was. Sure with a toddler and baby in a stroller. They pretended to speak broken English, but luckily I speak French. I asked them to ring customer services and hand me the phone. Management got it sorted out fast. Maybe we should have flashed some euros. Be warned! A horrible start to our holiday.

There is a train that leaves from CDG to Disneyland. It takes ten minutes. It’s not the cheapest option but it’s most convenient

We used the Magic shuttle 2 years ago and it took 90 mins! We used the train this time and it took 10 mins! You can book your return journey 2 weeks in advance for about 50% cheaper. But don’t book the CDG-DLP trip until through security and at the train terminal. We booked through the “trainline” app.

My American friends are often easy offended, it is not because Europeans don't smile 24/24 they are rude. I'm going to make a small guess and assume that you didn't speak to them in French?, the language they speak in France? As a European and not a native French speaker, but also a non-native English speaker, I think there is a bigger support and tolerance toward Europeans because we often try to make an effort to or speak french or speak slowly enough and know we will not be judge at our level of French or English. My experience is that it is often Americans who are quite rude. Most Europeans do not jump at the click of a finger to please you and are also not immediately on board when you throw things at us in another language like an express train. Europeans are also not fired because they are a bit short, so yes, maybe you were the umpteenth person that day and the person showed it. AC yes we not-medditareans like to suffer during summer because we convince ourselves that it is only for a few days and is not worth the investment (thanks global warming).

I love Disney Paris so much and it’s so unique 👌 but unfortunately This park is underrated. The last rides that opened there were Space Mountain and Indiana Jones in 1995, and no attractions have opened there in 30 years. But the good thing is that Disney Studios has a huge expansion that will open in the first quarter of 2026. Before the expansion, it was ranked as the worst Disney park in the world.

As someone who has only visited WDW in Florida I have seen other guests there that are rude and all of them end up being tourists from other countries. 😂😂 stopping in the middle of the walkway or street, not apologizing if they run into you and will almost knock you out of the way trying to get around you. I’ve gotten to where I will loudly say “excuse you” when they hit me. Some will just turn and look at me and some will actually then say excuse me and they have a foreign accent. So it’s just not the rudeness when you go over there….its definitely the same rudeness when they come over here to WDW.

It's a matter of live and let live. In general, smokers are more social than non-smokers. And I found the Disneyland parks in America disappointing, especially in the area of ​​food.
