I went during the summer to Alton Towers and i never seen it so quiet.. with ridiculous prices at shops etc and cost of living forever rising with job pay being the same for the last decade i’m not surprised why they’re not attracting customers.

I'm told that when Space Tower disappeared unceremoniously from Legoland a few years ago it was because it was ancient (one of only two left in the world) and impossible to get parts for; given how long it's been there it would not surprise me if Sky Rider was removed for the exact same reason. I did manage to get one final ride earlier in the year at least, and we'll see whether or not they decide to put anything new in the area once it's fully gone.

as someone who used to operate it, sky rider closing was long overdue. the model itself is not designed for outdoor use, so couldn't run in any weather other than sunny or overcast. it's been plagued with technical issues in the past few years as well and was just not worth the effort to keep running. would love to see it replaced by something similar though, rip sky rider.

Im actually really sad with the log flume ride at paultons going. Paultons was my childhood thempark and because recently there doing more themed stuff it make scense some off the 1 off rides will go. I as a person dont understand as to why you would want a boat or a peice of track from an old rollar coaster. However, if legoland were to auction off some of the old lego models from the rides or just from the park in general. I WOULD BUY SO MANY!!! LIKE GENUENLY LEGOLAND IS SUCH A MASSIVE PART OF MY LIFE AND I MISS SO MANY CHARACTERS. Mainly any of the original pirate band from the pirate area. Like they replaced them recsently and let me tell you, the money i would pay for a piece of my childhood like that😅❤

I know a lot are moaning about Merlin closing stuff at the moment, but I generally think they are just getting rid of the dross to concentrate on what's important. Yeah I know a liability wasn't one of them this year, but I think we are going to see a strong year with loads surprises next year.

Im not entirely surprised with sky riders closure. I believe Its final opirateing day it had a major maintenance issue. Which likely led to the assessment that it should be permanently closed. I hope they replace it with a similar ride which is more reliable. I think many kids started their coater journey with that ride. Its not a coater but many kids saw it as such. It allowed them to get used to hight and sloped track without the speed and forces you get on a coater. To be fair Its not far off the definition of a roller coaster. Which requires steep slopes and tight corners. The slopes were relatively steep but not quite enough to be a coaster, the corners were smaller than all the actual coaters at Legoland, just with no bank or speed.

Another tidbit of information at Paultons, although not another ride as such, they are also getting rid of the go karts too which will all fit into the new vikings land meaning this new land will be much bigger than we thought. Would make perfect sense for the crazy rumour of an RMC at paultons(surely not but nice to dream) I think the next best step for paultons is a launched coaster and it will have an inversion as rumoured, this would be sick and would top paultons off nicely Either way, I’m absolutely excited to see what paultons do next year with the new dark ride next year and then vikings land which is sure to be incredible

No! You mentioned the Thorpe Park auction! The current prices are already bananas without an influx of 100k followers! The Banana is currently at £260 The Control Panel for Loggers Leap is £1,225 And the LL boats are £600 to £700 with one at over £1000. Bonkers
