I know this is a hot take, but I honestly wish they were using the whole Shrek building for a new attraction. This would give them more freedom and would have more of a chance of it actually being an awesome ride instead of a conveyor belt. With all of the warehouses Universal has, I'm sure they can find another Haunted House spot. Even Blue Man Group could be an option as just one example.
@omarnoble47882 жыл бұрын
I agree. I love HHN, but a two month event should not dictate the realization of a year round 10 year attraction. That is just crazy to me. USF's entrance really needs to be reworked, so thought pets with a more expansive facade was perfect. But ultimately, if your biggest fans are already making fun of the fact that it's not fully a ride then you shouldn't move forward with it. That said, F&F proved they don't really care.
@alec80872 жыл бұрын
@@omarnoble4788 Universal has made some really amazing choices the past few years (Hagrid's, Velocicoaster, even Bourne replacing Terminator), but they've also made some really bad ones (Fast and Furious and Jimmy Fallon). Studios desperately needs another actual ride where you move on a track or trackless and isn't completely screen based.

@Theme Park Stop I kind of agree with you. However I am slowly now starting to have some doubts on most of the attractions at Epic Universe. I used to be hyped up as heck for this park, but the more I see the ride patent videos, and how you explained them, I am worried that the Epic Universe park is going to lack A LOT of Big Thrill Rides when compared to 1999’s Islands of Adventure. It would be very ironic if EU opens up, and the main complaint from guests would be “too many family rides, not enough thrill rides,” while back when IOA opened, the complaint was “too many thrill rides, not enough family rides.” My other big worry is that every land in the park is going to suffer the Diagon Alley syndrome, where the lands are flawless, but the attractions within them are lackluster at best. There is nothing wrong with highly immersive lands, HOWEVER when the lands are more immersive and attractive than the rides within them (isn’t that the whole POINT and FUN of going to a theme park, to ride the RIDES), there is a big, BIG problem.

In regards to Mummy refurb, I’m a production tech in the industry, a friend of mine was telling me his friend (a lighting tech at universal) said that the legacy rides at universal had a new LED lighting package installed during the last refurb, however they failed to update the program that sequences and runs the show lights for the ride. The change from traditional halogen lights to LED is huge and due to this oversight it was never quite the same as before. Lights would snap on and off instead of smooth fades. So this was something that has been on the list of fixes for a while. Definitely one of many fixes that is being done but just thought you’d like to know some “insider-baseball” info.

“What else can they do besides of a broom factory-“ WAIT A MINUTE! IVE GOT IT! QUIDDITCH!! Remember that ride patent you mentioned about riders flying from there back facing downwards, and they were moving around a giant Omni max dome screen beneath them? How about, an INTERACTIVE VR/AR broomstick flight simulator attraction, where you are competing against a team in a World Cup tournament of Quidditch?! Utilizing that exact same ride patent! Think of it like “Flight of Passage” meets “Smugglers Run.” If you remember in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” there is a scene at the VERY beginning of the movie where Harry and his friends visit a Quidditch World Cup tournament that is located in the country side of the United Kingdom. I think the rest of the writing speaks for itself. What do you think?

It would be cool if they had the guns and then you would shoot into a physical set and then like everything was breakable and it wasn’t just targets. Each set would be like you get a different gun like a freeze ray or fart gun or something and the freeze ray would like make things cold and the fart gun would obviously make it smell bad. Then your group would get a destruction score at the end so it’s like you work as a team competing with other groups instead of just versing the people in your car and there could be like daily scores for best minion cars at the end. They could also do the ghost affect from the haunted mansion where there is like a ghost in your car but instead it is a minion!!!

@Shilly_JD2 жыл бұрын
There is no way that a moving walkway will work. This concept is a McGuffin, that cannot work in a theme park as busy as Universal. Unless it is a tunnel from end to end where people cannot step off the track, there is no way this will work. A single or double sided "omnimover" type ride is the right solution. My bet is that it will be exactly like "Toy Story Mania" with "ray guns" attached to the ride vehicle.

From what I read on the WDW forms, someone said that they believe Web Slingers was originally designed for Walt Disney Studios Park in Paris as they do not have Midway Mania there and at some point they just decided to copy it over to DCA. Also the transitions in Web Slingers are due to the size of the former Bugs Life theater. It will be intresting to see if they copy Disney and sell up charge accessories for the attraction that can give you new abilities and higher scores

@kevinbhieey91882 жыл бұрын
The Minions space is so narrow, I can't see them using a curved walkway. The most efficient use of the space would be straight moving walkways like those at airports. They would be far cheaper, wheelchairs can use them without strapping them down, and they're just less dangerous than the curving ones. (Not that they are death traps, but your feet are not stationary going around a curve and people are idiots. Lawsuit! Also, there's a moving walkway company called Alstef Group that makes curving versions and they clearly show a wheelchair using the non-moving pathway next to it.) Besides, Villain-Con is extremely geometric, so visually it makes sense to keep the walkways straight. Straight walkways also allow for railings that move, and railings that move can also hold guns, though that would bring up the cost and it seems like they are focusing on cost here. Then there's math. The building is 120' wide so I'm assuming the space they are working with is 60' wide. If there are any practical sets, I don't see them fitting more than two walkways side by side. The building is 170' long. OmniMovers go about 2 feet per second so we are looking at taking 85 seconds to get from one end to the other. Or 170 seconds to two lengths. Add in the time to walk from one walkway to the other - no curving! - and we're talking a 3-minute experience. That seems unrealistic. There are ways around that, of course: Slowing down the walkways seems the most obvious, but how slow can they go? Airport walkways move at about 1.4mph, close to the speed of an OmniMover. Slowing them down to 1mph means it takes 2 minutes to get to the end, and 4 for a roundtrip. And we can't get slower than that or throughput is horrendous, which is undoubtedly why they went away from a start-and-stop walkway to a constant one. Getting 4 people on the belt every 10 seconds - at the 2' per second speed - is 1440 per hour and 5 seconds is 2880. The sweet spot is somewhere between those two. BUT, at 2 feet per second, each group is only 5 feet apart at 10-second intervals and 2.5 feet apart at 5-second intervals. The only real way to up throughput is to have larger groups, and larger groups means something on both sides. That would be a tolerable level of throughput. I still can't get over the length of the whole thing. It's gotta be longer and if they can't slow it down, then they have to up the number of walkways. And that means no practical sets. Which I don't think will work with moving walkways anyhow. If the theme is being at a booth, and the walkway doesn't stop, then the booth can't stop either, and a moving physical set is unrealistic for a C-Ticket. Here's what I'm picturing, (I do wish I could draw this): Four parallel walkways and two 170' screens. (It goes Walkway 1 - Screen A - Walkway 2 - Walkway 3 - Screen B - Walkway 4, with the odd Walkways going in one direction and the even ones in the other.) The "walls" of the booths are on the railing - they don't have to completely cross the walkway as they are more of a psychological barrier - which circles with the long screen. So 2-4 people are ushered onto Walkway 1 after the first wall curves around from Walkway 2 and onto Walkway 1. The next wall curves around and "encloses" that group. This allows the next group to be loaded onto the walkway immediately, keeping throughput high, which is a necessity considering how packed Despicable Me always is. The length of this first walkway is one "booth", the video of which moves with you asking Screen A. At the end of Walkway 1, a Villain-Con attendant makes sure people don't fall and die as they are guided around to Walkway 2, which uses the backside of Screen A. At the end of that "booth" another attendant prevents death onto Walkway 3, which uses Screen B for its booth. Then once again onto Walkway 4, which uses the backside of Screen B. The end. This gives 4 booths, about 8 minutes, high throughput. I'm having a hard time believing it's going to be an actual shooter with this timeframe and what appears to be a limited budget. Especially considering every gun would need to be fairly high-tech and they are going to need thousands of them. I think it's going to be something more like shooting the gun and something funny happens onscreen. This allows for a wide variety of results, which ups the re-standability of the experience. Hopefully you'll find out more info so I can know how many things I got wrong!
@kevinbhieey91882 жыл бұрын
Is there more info on this Wizarding World Theater? Because 5 stories is awfully steep for so few seats. Something like Horror Make-Up, Shrek, Bourne... That's more seats but they aren't "five stories". That's more like stadium seating, like Fear Factor and Sindbad. But clearly those hold way more seats. I'm picturing the rally scene at the end of Grindelwald. Simple theater-in-the-round with steep, concrete seating. It wouldn't have to follow Fantastic Beasts, it could just use the look of the theater to appease Voldemort Rowling. With this size, it can't be a spectacle like Sindbad, so probably something more like a magic-themed version of the Bourne show. That said, remember that patent where the seating sections can be moved via robotic arms? It was rumored to be a Zelda ride but when I first saw it, I immediately thought of the room where Harry Potter was put on trial. That's an elongated hexagon located in the British Ministry of Magic. The patent shows a perfect hexagon, but the patent is about the moving bits and not the shape. Elsewhere in the patent it shows different shapes - including a triangle, which obviously makes one think of Zelda's Triforce, but I think that's more about keeping their options open. These theme parks always have alternate ideas for their ride systems. An elongated hexagon is easily worked around by starting with three sections clustered together at each end with the gaps between the groupings serving as the entrances/exits. The main cast probably isn't going to ever film again, so the show could be a trial of somebody else, someone who's totally guilty and starts going crazy with spells, like one that make the observers all levitate. Also, special effects. This could be a relatively short show and it could run constantly. The biggest problem, really, is if they are referring to this as a theater and not a ride, because it think it would technically qualify as a ride. But would it need to be five stories? That sounds more like the elevator ride, which definitely needs some height to it. Are these actually two different attractions? Maybe the elevator ride is also the "theater" and the back building is for an elaborate dark ride?? Getting exciting!
@ThemeParkStop2 жыл бұрын
There is more to the structure than just the theater. The theater is only part of it, but I think the permit is also counting the British Ministry’s entry hallways and atrium, which could account for the 5 stories.

Yes, the name is pronounced “Mack” (Mock) Ex: Stop Mocking The Ride System From Spiderman

I would never mock the ride system from Spider-Man, as it’s one of the greatest in theme park history! We just found it humorous that another suspended ride system may have been scrapped for the existing Spider-Man system, as that just happened with the Jurassic World ride in Beijing.

I like your more composed video better. these are a big long and rambling- but I'm sure there are other people who enjoy them. Thanks for the content!

This is just the video version of our podcast, which can also be found on iTunes, Google Play, etc. We discuss rumors on the podcast before they’re eventually used to make those more composed news videos. Thanks for following the channel. More news videos coming soon.

I like having both. This allows the creators to have more fun and give there wishes and hopes and discus rumors more. Yes it's a bit rambling but it's also a fun vibe. The composed videos are also great but at least this way we get more content.

Those aquarium moving walk ways make me nauseous. I hope the minions thing doesn’t. It sounds alittle cra cra.

Every time I listen to your voice Alicia I am imagining you with an “Autumn Blaze” avatar from MLP, and I don’t know why?! 🤣

@@ThemeParkStop Yea, she even has a similar voice to yours in the show so that makes it even better! 😄 Also the way you were describing the walkway concept for the new Minions attraction reminds me of that one joke from Fairly Odd Parents were Timmy is on an escalator with his parents and he says “When are we going to get on the ride?” And the parents are like “This IS the ride! Who-Hoo!” 🤣

Ok. I’m starting an “Everyone mail Alicia all of the Autumn Blaze things” campaign now. That’s a compliment for sure (I too had to Google)
