I think they should have named it Silk and have spider inspired theming. That way it matches the black and silver colours and is related to Sik Silk as the track layout is like a ribbon of spiders silk with the silver track.

Fair play to Flamingo Land it looks brilliant. I can understand the collaboration given the financial situation for many parks. Still not what I would have gone with but it was a good move for both parties and I hope it increases ticket sales and merch sales alike. Once the trees and shrubbery grows around it it’ll be even better.

And you say, the surrounding landscaping is beautiful and sets it off just right. Anytime I ever rode Colossus, I always said it would be one the best rides in the UK if it had the lap-bar trains - instead of one of the worst. I have taken every chance I can over the last ten years to comment on thorpe Park posts about this - and they have never listened. Maybe they will listen now. They had their with Premier launch coasters back my day - people hated them but they changed to lap bars and totally made the rides great. Do it Thorpe. Also great vid guys - makes me want to visit. These parks should love you guys!

They didn't paint the train though, it looked like it had the paint from the factory, all scratched and worn, I'm not being negative I promise, just noticed the scratches, great coaster though

@@FlippingSloth don't be silly look at the front and the White stripes, it's just old badly damaged paint, it's all chipped, that thing ain't been painted since it was built, the seats and supports are brand new you can tell, but the carriage hasn't seen fresh paint no chance, the only way fresh paint would look like that is if someone threw gravel at it whilst it was moving!

Its the type of coaster flamingoland needed, a full length full size coaster. It needs a 2nd train for sure. Not that keen on the name and the entry through the gift shop maybe a problem during busy periods.

I only recently did Colossus and im doing Sik in a few weeks! Colossus’s restraints were a bit bulky and it was a bit jerky but it was still enjoyable so I hope Sik will be just as good!

Cable lifts aren’t standard anymore. It’s all EM lifters. They are adapting the technology found on aircraft carriers to do the work. Volcicoaster uses the repel launch system but can go into attract to create lift hills. Think mag-lev trains and it’s the same idea just more controlled with a switch.

The name SIK is about right for this type of ride, looks incredible with the loops barrel rolls inversions that allocation of hang times perfect layout with the lovely views of the park on top of the lift hill, it’s so incredibly generously nice of flamingo land providing breakfast, lunch, VIP access of behind the scenes comps but to name the few with the launch grand opening of this epic new ride, goes to show how much your recognised in these fun parks after so many followers not just theme park fans but actual theme park staff members fun fair park staff, in general this new inventory ride will now enhance Flamingo land after getting a real bargain, good to see you both have been enjoying yourselves can’t wait to see your epic flamingo vlog with another ride on SIK lol 😆

I went on this ride and honestly it gave me such bad belly ache because of the 5 heart line rolls near to the end but it is a good experience on this ride, and inside the station honestly does remind me of a night club because of all the colours and the lights and the songs playing it is a really good ride loved it!

One train? It may be a superior Colossus, but the queues that's going to cause won't do its reputation any good. Also, something I found interesting by comparing POVs: this and Colossus run at exactly the same speed through most of the layout, but the barrel rolls are lower on this so it goes through them faster.

This has a good 10mph on top of Colossus and manages to somewhow come into the brakes at around 40mph.

I remember the thunder mountain ride that was in that area next to the corkscrew in front of it was some bumper cars and there was a twister ride next to it in the early 2000s I’m riding Sik on Sunday hopefully great vlog again !!!

Oh.......and top tip.......we were on holiday from Scotland and had to wait 60 mins for our first ride,no big deal really....... however.......after all 1500 when most English school daytrippers had left the park,we could have went on Sik in a continuous loop until closing time. Maybe not quite the good tip as soon as English schools break for the summer 😀😀❤️

(paused video just before you said your going back on lol) I was there yesterday and got the credit for it amazing compared to collosus the lap bar, lift hill and first drop are such good improvements, but found after riding it 3 times the back is so much better than the front as it pulled me through everything but like you later discussed its personnel preference, and no hands with a lap bar is so enjoyable. I've only got probably mid 20 credits and my friend I went with is close to 100... I know you have way more but this ride is definatley up there for me luckily we had 20+ degree wether. Great video mate 👍 subbed and ready to learn 😁 my mate keeps quizzing me too 😂

I have to get to flamingo land soon. I’m only 2 hours away and if you’re saying it’s one of the best in the uk it must be done. I love the mist! I really thought it was such a huge part of ICON and miss it every time I ride so to have it on another ride is awesome, it’s placement around the ride looks really good. It’s a shame it only has one train though, I think another would be very beneficial. The name is awful but nevermind, names don’t make attractions. I wish flamingoland the best of luck with SIK!!!

Just a comment on the name, Sik sounds modern and hip etc.. However the name will soon sound dated and so old fashioned. Imagine a ride called Bad or Rad... A name with longevity would have been better. Great video as always. The magic tea cups ride is always a thriller at Blackpool...

Went on it today , first ride was pretty good, the third ride was just ridiculous. The speed it was carrying was insane, however in the back car it seem to have a bit of vibration going on. I think overall a great addition to the park.

I really loved Sik. Did anyone else notice the wheels really scrubbing, like they were octagonal especially on the cobra roll out of, and back into the mist? I wonder if that's fixable, or if it's a byproduct of the wheels being wet from the mist?
