I remember going to Disney land the same year the kingdom of the crystal skull came out.. I was 5 and the lady told me I wasn’t tall enough to go on the ride 😢🤣. My mom even bought me these things to put in ur shoes to make it appear that i was taller and it still didn’t work 🤣. Almost 22 now and if I ever go again I definitely plan on riding this 😅.

I remember when this ride opened. They would give you a small card at the entrance which had a decoding alphabet key printed on it. So you decode the written hieroglyphics in the inside the temple queue.

It has been over 30 years and of course things change but I remember this ride being more immersive as the car would be bumping and twisting thru out the ride. No one was there at the time and me and the kids went on it twice. It was great. this ride seems now more sedate.

It was updated to be more toned down due to a combination of it making people sick, causing or exacerbating injuries, and the increased maintenance and downtime the additional stress of those movements caused on the mechanics.

I was super hyped to hear of an Indians Jones ride, imagining a roller-coaster type mine cart deal. I found the actual ride disappointing, with “jeeps” that literally whipped you back and forth, and side to side. If you don’t have neck issues, just try this one…and you WILL.

Well this is easily the longest queue line ever, but it's also the best themed one I've ever seen so I wouldn't even mind. The whole ride is completely immersive, both the walkthrough half and the actual moving ride half, and it makes you feel like you're actually going through the movie. For the record, I didn't even like this movie - *Raiders* is SO much better - but I love this ride and would go on it in a heartbeat. ❤

LOL, I was on this during Star Wars Nite on 4/16/24. Ride had to stop at the last turn before Indy was hanging on the rope/boulder scene. Stuck for 15 minutes with the lights on until they started it back up, and asked everyone if they wanted to re-ride again.

Excellent video! It really illustrates the length of the un-occupied queue that has no low-census shortcuts. People "racing" (like a morning rope-drop) simply to stand-still for a pre-show. I have'ta say, Universal has better attendance-flexible queue lines. And Universal's ExpressPass shortens the queue even more. I love Disney, but prefer Universal's "system".

One of the problems that led to a quarter-freakin'-mile queue was trying to fit the ride building into the existing park. An overhead view shows it tucked WAY outside of the Adventureland thoroughfair. To get to that building is quite a jaunt.

It wasn't broken. It was working. Lmg's jeep entered the room as it was resetting. When this happens, the room doesn't work, but for the next jeep it will. It's weird, I know. Not sure what caused this issue, but it was back in 2013 when this issue became bad.

I have a couple of techniques I use to reduce the amount of shake in the video, the ride is still very bumpy haha I use an a7siii for the video, but there's also a lot of editing like grading and noise correction to make it look this bright and colorful

depends on what time you were comparing to. 1. The bumpiness was nerfed due to the car may break down if it keep doing high level of violence bumpy movements. But this change was quite a long time ago. I hope you get to ride the original version of this ride. It was fun with more realistic features than shiny cheesy projections. 1. The gate you enter changes in the beginning 2. The god statue was more cool and no cheesy projections. the japan version will stop the car at there for a few seconds, allowing the god rants for a few sentences, and shoot a giant smoke ball at you from the mouth. The god will shoot laser beams from the eyes. This make him look pretty pissed off. 3. The bridges would shake violently while the car cross slowly. 6:06 You can still see the hole at the connecting point of the bridge and the springs, that originally allows the sting to pull and release, causing violent shaking. 4. In Japan version, there will be a giant tornado forming beside the bridge, and the broken statue of a skull will shoot laser beam with very loud noises trying to shoot the car. But at least the giant snake finally, finally can move again. Yay🎉

It looks like it’s improved since they re-hauled it but it still seems to be a stretch from what it originally was. I wish they would have had some of the projection mapping technologies back when they first made the ride, you would have really gotten the best of both worlds. Still a great ride, I went on it awhile back. There was a spot where a shadow created what looks like a wall and both times it made me flinch hard thinking I was about to hit something.

This ride has never run at 100% efficiency. The boulder in this case did not go as planned. However, I like they added more graphics in the dark rooms where the rats used to be. And the snake is working again! That’s great!

I rode this on my high school grad nite back in 2017. That was the last time I was ever at Disneyland. I want to go back soon. Maybe next year, for it's next deca-annual anniversary Edit: the ride stopped twice. Vehicles were getting too close. Once before the skeletons attacking the second, right under Indy, just before the boulder
