@@acemt01 It's the most technologically advanced and smartly designed ride Disney has built to date. You can tell from the fifty-ish animatronic stormtroopers and two life-sized AT-ATs that they spared no expense when building this. They were even able to brag about how many lines of computer code are used to control the vehicles. But I guess since it has at least one screen somewhere, that fact alone must make it a failure, for some reason.

No ride is packed 24/7 all year round. A mid week rainy day during the off season will have a fraction of people compared to prime time, nice day, peak season. People looking to film an empty ride just do better planning for when to go, and may also wait for longer to have best opportunity for filming. They have to plan around when is least packed, while you're just going when it's convenient for you, which overlaps with a lot of other people's choice time as well.

I've ridden this 3 times. First time in LA and it broke down. So, there was a full evacuation. Very cool to go behind the scenes. We were told to not take any pictures. Then, it came back online and we were allowed to cut the line. So, that's twice. Then, I was at Disneyworld, staying at Galactic Starcruiser (RIP) and was able to cut the whole line. You get special access because the cast members saw the Starcruiser pins. (That's a whole. different story...)

This sort of thing would have been heaven for Star Wars fans decades ago, however, generations after mine that didn't grow up with the franchise like me... have changed 😢 and many people have forgotten what it means to really dream and imagine, I'm afraid. It seems these days, with all that's going on in the world, everything has become too political. I remember seeing the original Trilogy in theaters and the prequels years later. Something's missing in our youth and people in general, for I sense a void and our children seem to be losing their childhoods to social media and the inability to enjoy simple things anymore. The empty ride was symbolic to me and struck a nerve. Thank you, from an original fan.

the ride is super cool but cmon in the og trilogy the empire were clearly coded as space nazis and took many aesthetic cues from italian fascists - i mean stormtroopers is a literal translation from the german Sturmabteilung, which was the name of the military wing of the nazi party and from which hitler chose his personal bodyguard... the heroes of star wars are essentially fiction equivalents of those who in real life fought against fascism...
