Never say “never”. Anything is possible with a daily five minutes of basic yin yoga or stretching. Gradually, it will become longer until you’re able to work out or stretch for an entire hour each day. And before you know it…you’re doing all kinds of stuff. I started yoga on a whim ten years ago and had no clue the doors it would open for me, not only physically, but also mentally, socially, professionally, romantically…

Yes, aside the obvious “eye candy” we get, we have to take a step back and admire the strength of these men to go up, wear traditional garb, practically go tiptoe dancing with precise precision, sing in a quite nearly dying language that’s supposed to be native to their lands (in a state where there’s 1.5 million, only about 30k speak it, counting both first and second language speakers), and present a story of their ancestors to preserve the culture.

This is what is so amazingly beautiful about cultural spiritual dances like Hula. You can see the men and women embed such impactful historical hopes and dreams, connection to higher understanding, melding the present while preserving the past. It's transcendent. As I understand it is a competition, from an outsider perspective it seems to be a showcase, I am curious about the judges criteria on who wins.
