Every single point you made in your "Patient Number 9" review was valid and dead on, imo. I'm 48, and have been a huge Ozzy fan since I was 12, and I think he should have retired a long time ago. People my age who refuse to venture out of their comfort zone and give new bands a listen baffle the ever living fuck out of me. There's a shit ton of great modern metal out there!

I liked the latest albums by Ozzy, Saxon and AC/DC but you’re totally right that these bands are (sadly) at the end of their careers. Between you and your colleagues at Metal Trenches, Forgemasters, Banger, etc you guys are doing an awesome job of bringing us newer albums from the likes of Haunt, Summerlands, Venom Prison, etc. There’s such a massive amount of great metal out there that I’d never have known about if it weren’t for you and those other KZbin channels. You’re doing a great job mate and if you’re ever in Australia the first drink is on me

I'm 52. I'm at an age where I should be consistently listening to 70's and 80's stuff as nauseum and forsaking anything in the last 20 years. I have failed to do so. I have listened to rock and metal for over 40 years and for a time ran my own website. With that said, I've got your back on this. Listen up butthurt Gen X peoples, Ozzy Osbourne is a legend for three things. 1. Being a part of Black Sabbath. 2. Biting the head off of doves and bats. 3. The amount of chemicals he's ingested over the years. That's it. Everything else is just icing on the cake. When you're being propped up on stage like a guitar due to Parkinsons and safety to play two songs at an NFL game, one of which is Crazy Train ( a song that has been done to death) and a new track and you don't even get air time for it....it's time to retire. Ozzy has thrived because of his antics, his wife, and the cast of musicians around him. But that was 30 years ago. He's been a caricature and a shell of himself for decades. If you were paying attention and didn't suffer from the same brain misfires as this man has over the years, you'd know that. The younger generation like Robert doesn't have to have the same respect and reverence as us older folks because he wasn't there for it. Read the caption on the KZbin thumbnails and know going in that he isn't going to be complimentary over mediocre music before you click on the video otherwise you're just looking to pick a fight to make yourself feel better. Ozzy solo albums haven't truly been good since 1988. No More Tears is overplayed and boring. Fight me.

The song patient number 9 It’s actually what was happening to him. Jeff Beck did an awesome job on guitar. Ozzy compare to others he loves what he does, he is humble passionate and grateful for his career.he wanted to do another tour because it was his way of thanking the fans for the career that it gave him. How many artist bows on stage to thank with honour to everyone. It says a lot. You don’t see others doing that. He’s a one of a kind.

Another future "Reviewing Every Album" video should be about Morbid Angel, and you should get Necrotic Nick of the Thralls of Metal onboard as a guest since he's a big fan of the album Covenant, especially with the song "God of Emptiness", which was featured on Beavis and Butthead.

I definitely agree with your thoughts a lot on this I actually think it’s even a bad record. I seriously Want Ozzy to live very likely the last years of his life as happily as possible with loved ones and friends. No one is immune to criticism not even my favorite bands of all time. I’ll always give Megadeth, Judas Priest, Razor, Morbid Angel, Cryptopsy etc… a little bit of shit for making a few shitty albums. Also that Summer land’s album is great. Also new Worm song😍😍 also that Suicidal Tendencies hat is awesome. I might have just ordered an album of theirs, as well as Cro Mags, Discharge and Freddie Gibbs😏

Just found your channel dude, love your sense of humor and the way you compose yourself. Got a new fan! Also I really do not understand the massive love some people have towards "Patient Number 9." I thought it was passable at best. Not bad, but certainly not on par with the other Ozzy material. It had some fun ideas and is still wayyy better than "Ordinary Man," but it is no where near as good as we were probably all hoping. The legend needs a break. At least the title-track rocks!

Also as an extra point, I have been listening to metal since I was 12., so for 36 years , I don’t ever remember being with buds and giving people shit if they didn’t like an album that I did. It was always an ok cool situation , but these days, fuckin hell no one can criticise anything without a fuckin shit festival of hate. We are all metal heads, save the attacks for the mainstream. And in your defence, which seems to be missed, u said it was a decent album. The vocals being the result of studio trickery is obvious to anyone with ears. Do I like it , no , do I understand why Ozzy has to do it? Of course. No big deal, moving on!
@markpalavosvrahotes55752 жыл бұрын
Well Ozzy wants to do a world tour but I think the only way he would make it is to sit down throughout the show like Phil Collins of Genesis did. Then he should retire for good. Another point I want to make is Ozzy did not write most of the music be it in Sabbath or his solo projects right from the start. It was Tony then Randy then whatever other musicians were in his band. Sure he wrote some lyrics and has a great stage presence but people act like Ozzy was Sabbath and was his entire solo band which is simply not the case. Great video dude

So let's see. I am 47 years old and have been listening to Ozzy for 30 years. I think the new album is a little better than the last one but not by much. The production is subpar at best. Muddy guitars and lifeless drums. That being said I love the new Parkway Drive album. The songs are good and the production is fantastic.

At this point, I'd be curious to see how these types would actually respond if Ozzy released an album with dogs farting into a French horn on every song. Either way it would say a lot about the fanbase.

Was a big ozzy fan when I was younger. Now that I’m older I hate seeing him keep being paraded out there for other people to gain from his brand. Or maybe he truly believes he can still do it despite all the evidence otherwise. As I’ve gotten older though I’ve heard enough to know that he’s frequently been less than honorable and that it hasn’t always been Sharon’s fault. Ozzy might be the face and brand that brings in the money but it’s always been a collaborative effort and he’s only been as good as who he’s working with and how much influence on the music he allows them to have.

Clearly the only way to have respect for a veteran musician is to demand that they entertain you forever no matter what and to decry any speech of that person resting as cardinal sin... We are metalheads, right? I thought we didn't do the whole sin thing.
@Paul077912 жыл бұрын
Right on, retire, but I've always thought that before he dies, Ozzy should make a more honest album, grizzled abused voice (like you said). Concept album about his life, drugs etc. Like Johnny Cash. Dare I say it, accoustic??!! Extend the more Beatlesy moments on albums like Down to Earth, or the closing segment of Symptom of the Universe. Then retire.

Ozzy easily could have and should have retired for the most part after Black Rain or if we wanna push it, Scream. He coulda did the occasional one off appearances, do a song or two, walk off. Maybe put a song out for fun. No regular touring or albums. No sabbath album in 2013 when he had the chance to put out something likely better with them when they started performing again In 2008.
