She uses callus remover to soften the skin, you can buy it at Sally's (green label) but be sure to rinse it thoroughly and don't leave it on too long. It is caustic and will burn the skin if it goes through the callus. Only put it only the callus part. (Advice from a licensed nail tech/esthetician). :) Notice how she moves around not staying over and over in the same place. She gives the bad places a "break" this is more comfortable too. Taking just a little off at a time or as we used to say--don't dig to china in a hurry. LOL

Whether the manicurist use gloves on her clients or not has absolutely nothing to do with treating a client like a human being. It has to do with sanitation for the manicurist as well as the client. Also, there are products that are used to remove calluses that will irritate the service person's skin because we use it on all of our clients daily. It doesn't irritate the clients skin because it doesn't stay on them for a long period of time. In Tennessee where I work doing this same service it's required that we wear gloves. Lastly, its a matter of choice for some and doesn't take anything away from there skills or professionalism if they decide not to wear them.

Yuh know what? Sometimes.. we get caught up looking after everything and everyone..and forget to take care of ourselves. And to everyone out there.. if you notice a relative or friend could use some TLC.. instead of criticizing, a gift certificate or offering some form of help, will go a long way, ESPECIALLY these days. To me, how their feet got to this point really has no importance. I'm just so happy for her that she was able to see Laurie and get help. Doesn’t she need gloves? Nail fungus is contagious isn’t it?
@romel4202 жыл бұрын
@@ericarmendariz1177 Some types are, but as long as she washes her hands she will be fine. Toe fungi thrive in a wet, humid, warm environment such as public pools, gyms, showers, etc., and of course, your sweaty feet inside your shoes. Which is why you want to wear sandals if there is a lot of barefoot traffic in a moist public environment. But getting it on your hands and washing and drying it right away easily kills the fungus. And your hands are usually a dry and cool environment, unlike your feet, so they don't get the chance to thrive and they die fairly quickly.

Fantastic job. Well done. Disappointing that this lady had a bad experience with the podiatrist. At least the big toe, but most likely the next two, too, need to be cut a lot shorter to clean off the dead skin underneath and allow the new nail growth to reattach to the nail bed. @whisperingshadowXI3 жыл бұрын
Well if the person is diabetic, they might have some peripheral neuropathy (aka limb nerve damage/loss of sensation in the hands and feet). They legit can't feel anything and it's something docs have to check for regularly in diabetes to make sure they don't severely injure their feet and recommend people with diabetes regularly check and care for their feet (plus people with diabetes heal from wounds slower so serious foot damage may take a long time to heal) And it can get much worse than even this video. People with diabetes can end up with foot amputations if they don't take good care of their feet. Obviously no one wants that, but it's hard to take care of your feet when have them in socks and shoes most of the time and you can barely even feel anything wrong with them like other people would. Regularly scheduled foot care is pretty much their best way to keep their feet healthy and good looking. For anyone curious to learn more, I recommend looking up "diabetic foot" Sorry for the this psa, but hope someone found this information useful/interesting.

@caristewart4814 жыл бұрын
@@beckysue7789 There are SO many reasons. Chronic pain (especially low back), chronic illness, diabetics, cancer, depression, and others. Not to mention aging. Time goes by and their feet get bad but they are embarrassed. Then it gets worse and they get really embarrassed. It takes a lot of courage to come into public, on KZbin no less, and show your feet like this. Lets normalize people for asking for help amd not judge them for 'letting their feet get this bad'.
