How have I never heard this? I grew up listening to this by the Hollies but this is really special. This song is made for Olivia's angelic voice. I checked the studio version and I don't remember hearing a live performance coming so close.

I will admit I REALLY like this channel. It’s great to see these artists from a better era - and yes it was “better” - in video that appears to be cleaned up and (I’m assuming) had an analog-to-digital HD upconversion. There are I guess AI tools nowadays that can do wonders with old video and it’s pretty amazing. At any rate, for some reason, I usually want to write something silly for this channel, especially when I see Tom Jones or The Cars. With Olivia I try to keep it straight but whenever I see The Cars - I get a kick out of them - I always want to write jokes about how “cool” they were. ONJ, Rest in Peace.

I highly recommend the book “Little Girl Blue” (LGB) about Karen Carpenter. I think that LGB was a name of a Carpenters song that gets little play. But in it the author discusses how Olivia Newton John - Karen called her ONJ like “on-j” - and Karen were good friends supposedly. But I think that ONJ died a couple years ago. Well, two great singers who were somewhat different are no longer with us. (Looking at ONJ’s BIO I guess she lived in the Santa Ynez Valley. I’ve driven through there multiple times to try different Pinots and that’s a fun trip.)

Wow, that’s very interesting, didn’t know about the book etc…Karen Carpenter had such a hard life because of her mother, favoring Richard. “Little Girl Blue” was also a 2015 musical/documentary about Janis Joplin, she also sings the song in the title. Lots of little girls blue in the music business. It’s probably why they can make us “feel” their music so deeply inside.
