Awesome❣️ I once saw some footage on yt from what looked to have been a big, outdoor stadium concert at night with very low stage lights- only coming from behind the players so that you could hardly see them- and it was filmed from a distance, too. In it, JF was playing a bit faster and more in the original fuzzed, strat-y, psychedelic-style with a hard-rocking backing band. It was very cool to see this version, as well, thanks, I really ❤️ this channel‼️

People have argued for 50 years over what “Purple Haze” is about. Some think it referred to an illegal substance - at least at the time - but Jimmy said it was about a dream of being underwater, while winking. But obviously the song is about Mondays, the day after a Super Bowl, for Vikings fans after their team lost - again.

It sounds so weird hearing anyone, outside of Jimmy, play “Purple Haze.” Jimmy was pretty unique and he had kind of a relaxed style I think, that added up to how he sounded playing the guitar. Jimmy isn’t one of my favorite guitarists really but I’ll even admit he was great at what he did. But I was more into metal and I liked Randy Rhoads, Eddie Van Halen, and even classical and Flamenco players like Andres Segovia and Paco de Lucia.
