It really suits you! I also got my septum pierced almost a year ago and I am still happy with it. Although there are always some people telling me it looks like a bull ring. Something I really like about the septum piercing is that I can hide it occasionally. Long story short: Enjoy your new piercing :)

Thank you! Whenever I was thinking about it I had a friend tell me that I am going to look like a bull haha! I think it's funny! :D That's what I like about it as well, in case I feel like hiding it for interviews and what not. Thank you so much! :)

I've never had the desire for one but if it makes you happy then go for it. It's fun to be different!

The piercing really suits you. I let fear stop me from getting a septum piercing for decades. I knew a piercer, and she told me that it was her least favourite to perform. Back then, I think that it was more common to pierce through the cartilage. I finally ended up getting it done, and it was the least painful of all of my piercings. My eyes didn't even water. Two years ago, I went to J. Colby Smith (who was at New York Adorned then), and he fitted me for his removable septum chain. It's so lovely and delicate. You are correct -- there is so much beautiful septum jewellry available now. Enjoy!

Thank you so much! I am so excited to hear that you finally ended up getting it done! I was told that it shouldn't hurt all too much provided that the piercer hits the sweet spot! :) Ah! I just looked the chain up - it looks sooo beautiful, I love it! :D

It looks sooo good on you! I have my nostril and tragus pierced (along with a few on the earlobes). I think for me my mental/emotional state has a lot to do with how I experience pain when getting pierced. for my nostril I was very nervous and it did hurt more than my tragus- and my tragus didn't really hurt at all! I was very calm and almost in a meditative state during that one. So I loved the fact you mentioned breathing as something you're very in tune with because of yoga.

Thank you! It's so interesting that you are mentioning that! I'd imagine your mental state on the day to play a huge role with how it goes! I just got my tragus pierced today and oh boy, it was waaaay more uncomfortable then the septum!! :D Totally! Focusing on the breath throughout the whole experience even helps a lot as I am not as focused on what's exactly going on and it makes me a little more relaxed! :)

The septum piercing suits you so well! :) Funny how piercings and tattoos can give us a good buzz for awhile :) They're great!

Thank you! :D Absolutely! I just wanted to switch things up and having piercings is so easy as you can just leave them in. I am all about things that are low-maintenance and I am so thrilled I finally did it :D
@flightheaded85267 жыл бұрын
The Minimalist Ninja Thrilled that your thrilled! 😁 And yes it seems to be low maintenance especially being in a very accessible area for thorough cleansing and care. Are you simply using a saline solution to keep the area healthy?
@theminimalistninja7 жыл бұрын
Absolutely! I am using a saline solution spray (I find that easier) twice a day and for the first 1-2 months I do a warm-hot water soak twice a day for 10 minutes each. I use this time to listen to podcasts! :D

I'd love to know about your cleaning routine for your piercing:)
@theminimalistninja7 жыл бұрын
Right now I am using a saline solution spray (I find that easier) twice a day. I basically use it whenever soap could have potentially touched the piercing which is at least once a day and on days I wash my hair, twice a day. I was also planning on doing warm-hot water soak twice a day for 10 minutes each for the first 1-2 months. Upon reading into it though I may just practice LITHA (leave it the hell alone) and will slowly but surely phase it out. I just got another piercing and plan on doing just that with that: saline spray only when really needed and rinsing it only when soap touched it. That's it! :)

It looks great on you! Hope you don't have the experience I had 🙄 I had my nose pierced 1 year & 1/2 ago, then a few months later I needed "an emergency hysterectomy". The hole closed bcuz you can't wear any jewelry in surgery. I had it repierced then not even a year after, I had an ER visit that turned out to be a ruptured gallbladder! So I had another emergency surgery. Once again, the hole closed. So I'm done with piercing🤣 guess it's not meant to be!

Oh no! That sounds really rough! So far it's giving me no trouble and as it's semi healed within only a couple months I think it should be all good if nothing changes for the next 2 months or so :)

How does piercing steel into one’s head an adding jewelry to one’s possessions combine with minimalism? Really not wanting to troll or hate, love most of your videos. But I’m not getting this, so please help me out!
