This was my very first movie I had ever seen in theaters. I had a medium popcorn, a blue raspberry slushie and my shiny holographic ancient mew card. Seriously, I grew up waking up at 5am just to watch Pokémon before catching the bus to school. Begging for the old booster packs so I could show off to the other kids on the bus, playing through Pokémon silver countless times. Hell getting stuck, and begging to go to the game section at Walmart to read the guides while your parents shopped so you could figure out what to do next. Just listening to this and the other older soundtracks brought back so many memories, I can still sing the old songs word for word despite not hearing them for over 10 years. It was like a nostalgia overload. Most of the comments on the other videos are locked, and that blows. I’m sure there are tons of people that want to comment, that feel like kids again listening to these older soundtracks.

I wasn't even in the theatres when I first saw it as a kid (I was born in 1996... just a little too young), but honestly the excitement when you see a movie like that when you're that young, it's that emotionally powerful that I felt like I had the same atmosphere even just watching it at home. Kid shows (and other things like video games) back then just filled you with this incredible hype that kids today wouldn't understand at all, lol I actually feel kinda sad for kids of today's generation. There aren't really any strong franchises for kids these days, at least like, when it comes to TV shows and cartoons (and honestly even video games). Kids will end up liking whatever they like but there really isn't anything as powerful as the fads of the 90s... pokemon, power rangers. I was more of an early 2000s kid so i had that stuff (I had older brothers) but then I also grew up with all the cool shit on gamecube... the Sonic Adventure games, etc. Nowadays what do kids have? Garbage nickelodeon sitcoms, fortnite, copy-paste sequels to games with no soul or creativity, cartoons that are animated worse than early flash animations. They will never understand the creativity and the power of the things we experienced in the 90s and the early 2000s. I feel like kids today deserve their own equivalent for the stuff that we had, but they will never get it. Thank god I'm as old as I am lol. Everyone's like "omg i hate being old" but like, think about what you had that kids today have to miss out on

I remember literally all of this. The whole theater was singing part of this song and we were all so hyped and some of us were like “woah!!!” When we saw Donphan. “You see kids back in my day we only had 151 Pokémon” it was so amazing seeing a Pokémon haven’t been released in game yet until gold and silver I did catch a Donphan when I heard it was in the game so I grabbed my silver copy and started searching. I didn’t see a Donphan but I did get a phanphy which I evolved. (Ps there are over 1000 pokemon crazy right?)

This movie came out on Nov. 12th 1999, right? So I was 3 and still living in Japan when this came out in theatres just 4 days before my birthday. My folks must've taken me to see it as a present. They didn't know anything about it, so they asked the locals and they recommended it. I came out of that theatre head over heels in love with the series. Ken93Cy Yeah, I wouldn't find anything wrong with this song or the movie itself, even if it's now owned by a really horrible stupid company that no one really likes. It still won't change for how I feel about the oldies, they will always be the same to me in my memory and heart. I also know how Pokemon used to be, and how the people that play it act like before as well (I was born during 1993, so still in the 90's), since I pretty much have experienced the originals myself.

i agree. i was born 1993 as well. i didnt know they were bought out. thats why i stopped playing. i loved the old versions better. i was sceptical on sapphire but it was fun. but GOD the new ones please trash them. i kept the old ones. for me and for my future kids. they need to play those first. 1st movie was the all time best. period.

Pokemon was my pride and joy back in the days. I would spend my entire summer in the province watching its third season on a CD my mother bought back in 2008 along with my gameboy advanced armed with nothing but Pokemon FireRed and Emerald. Back then no smartphones, no WiFi, no toxicity in social media. Just a kid spending time with relatives in the countryside and genuinely enjoying it. Those were the days. Nowadays, kids can't appreciate these kinds of shows due to the presence of numerous channels of media. Yeah, they gain information at a speed we could only dream of achieving in the past but at what cost? That I'll let you answer on your own.
