This song is so evocative to me, it's a very accurate portrait of how I felt when I was a hopeless junkie. I'll always love this song for how chillingly accurate it is.

I remember being at a show around 2003ish (Space 1110, Lubbock) and John poking fun at the 'scene kids' having to sweep their hair out of their face constantly! my oh my, how the tables have turned. Love these sessions!

This is the very first Mountain Goats song I ever heard. I played it over and over again until I fell asleep.

The first time I heard this song I immediately knew I was gonna love All Eternals Deck, and to this day it remains my favorite though by an admittedly small margin that further shrinks every time I listen to In League with Dragons.

If you look at the KZbin info, they apparently think this song *is* in league with dragons

This is so cool. I never thought until today to look for video of the Jordan Lake sessions. This was the first song I thought to search for so idk if their is more, yet. God damn TJLS has been on my ears for months. It's so good. And saw them live this year, 2022. So fucking good thank you TMG!:

And dawn came, the vampires turned to dust. We fashioned stakes for the ones hidden in shadows and exposed our necks at dusk.

What did the vampires do to you as you are singing the song and seem ok?
@LeCharles07 Жыл бұрын
Vampires in this song refer to heroin and speed. John fought the hardest fight and got clean; he "[learned] to walk upright". John Darnielle is one of the most inspiring people I've ever had the privilege to meet and I hope to have that privilege again some day.
