I feel like Rapunzel is one of the few where the "adorkable" trope works. She's never been outside and was constantly gaslighted negative ideas of the outer world inside her head.

She worked because it was the first movie to do it

@@niarahancock4739 well yeah but it also makes sense for the story

Honestly I never even saw Moana or Rapunzel as THAT adorkable. Anna was the only one who felt truly adorkable, and that was when it worked. Asha is mainly the one it didn't work for.

honestly yeah. after a while disney saw that trope worked and started to run with it a little too much for me. it gets boring seeing princesses have the same personality over and over again.

Love how Flynn gets stabbed in the back and he's dying, but 2, no, 3 frying pan hits to the head and a wooden beam to the gut and he's fine.

Ironically all 3 “princesses” follow the same good-woman-tames-uncivilised-man trope
@lampad45493 ай бұрын
Lol so true. All though tiana was not a princess and navin was a prince. And tame seems like negatively loaded word to use unless you think it is bad than fine.

I imagine that charlotte tried to give Tiana the money numerous times but Tiana just wanted to work for it properly

She also extremely overpays her for the beignets. This shows that she has kinda found a loophole to help her friend

2:16:20 The art style influences of "Almost There" came from 1920s and 1930s artist Aaron Douglas. Other influences for the movie also came from the time period this was set in such as Erté, the organic Art Nouveau with poster designers like Alphonse Mucha and Harlem Renaissance artists.

I mean tiana did say the quickest way to a mans heart is through his stomach, and she did make food. That food probably smacked some sense into him. But I can still see how naveens personality did a 180.

Charlotte may be spoiled but she is the best friend I ever seen in Disney she knew Tiana was struggling to pay for that restaurant I think she purposely gave her ever dollar in her dad's wallet but Tiana is such a hard worker that she would never just take money from her friend 😭

I never understood why i liked repunzle as a kid but when i was watching the show with my little niece myself being 20 now there is a song from mother gothals bio daughter that had me sobbing as i realized just how similar it was to my homelife.

You guys seem like the best people to watch a movie with. I like the way you breakdown scenes from an emotional standpoint. Plus you guys are just so damn entertaining “Babe just touch grass”😂

While it's true that Tangled never got a cinematic sequel, it did get a sequel show that ran for three seasons. Honestly, it was pretty good, and the quality of the songs was just as good, if not better than the film.

I can't find the lanterns scene so beautyful anymore since some guys let some lanterns fly close to a zoo and burned the whole thing down, have to think about it every time, it really sucks

Ok. Mother Gothel, if you're going to commit a crime, you should at least be good at it. You kidnap the princess. Tell her a fake birthday. Obviously the king and queen might do something on a birthday to remember her🤦♀️
@marslara11 ай бұрын
tbf I think she genuinely thought Rapunzel would never be intelligent enough to notice nor would she be confident enough to really guess they're for her aside from her dreaming they are. I mean she has a whole song just gas lighting her, I guess she figured it wouldn't matter. As far as we know she still would just be in there if it wasn't for Flynn just happening upon her 🤷🏾♀️
