Love your channel man. Just a heads up: the artwork for this Robocop 2 4k release (slipcover and insert) is actually from the original 1990 movie poster released in theaters. Thought it was pretty cool that Scream Factory did this. I’m remember watching this movie in the theater way back in 1990 and loving it.

The original blue ray of shout has the slipcover with Robocop coming out the wall they went with the original VHS 📼 for this new 4K. Cover

not likely, they only ever had the rights to release the first one. Other Shout Factory 4ks that have translated over to Arrow have been titles that Arrow already had the rights for and so were able to release them like Carrie and Candyman. The majority of the time though Shout Factory releases dont crossover into Arrow.

Big fan of robocop, looks good, I heard there was an original script for this by the first robocop writer ed numier called robocop corporate wars but there was an issue with the studio so they went with a frank miller sequel.I read that suddenly in the past few weeks they really want to make RoboCop corporate wars now.

Great review my friend. As far as these 2.0 tracks and laserdisc crap it's Scream Factory chincing out of Dolby Atmos track. They are really starting to skimp out and grabbing 💰 money 💰.

I was afraid Scream Factory (Scratch Factory) were going to drop the ball with this release, but thankfully and true to form the discs were scratched so panic over! It would be a shame to receive a perfect condition one as it wouldn't match the rest of my Scream Factory collection. In all seriousness the discs at least work and look great, but Scream Factory are a disgrace

It looks incredible. Just think Aliens could've looked that good if they just did a normal and proper restoration and didnt try to distort the image with AI image "enhancing" tools.

@@tjdw5251 Yes that was what I was conveying. The heavier natural grain of ALIENS, too much information is lost in scrubbing film grain. Robocop2 never had that heavy of film grain to begin with. So even at ALIENS best presentation, natural original presentation it wouldn't be as crisp and clean as RoboCop 2.

@@treborkroy5280 perhaps true. I don’t know myself what film stocks both were shot on but they were likely different, that being said i am certain that films shot on the same stock as Aliens have had authentic 4k restorations and releases and do look better than what Aliens ended up like

@@tjdw5251 I don't know any specifics but reading peoples recollections of watching the theatrical version and early early I think laser disc versions the grain was heavier than films of the time usually had. It apparently always bothered Cameron, from the moment it was completed. And he took steps at every opportunity whenever it was rereleased to take a crack at minimizing it.
