Hi, I tried this strat on a demo, 100 trades aiming for mostly 2:1, profit, and sometimes 1:5:1, and 1 in some cases, documenting all of them. Making sure it's always above the 50 RSI and 200 MA & only got a 43% win rate (opposite for shorting). I still seemed to breakeven or make profit, but how I'm not sure why I cannot get at least 50%? I tried to consider other factors like S/R, Divergence, focusing on big candles, and making sure trades are also above, 20, 50 MA's. Since it was a demo test I did not pull out of trades if there was divergence, or price went into some consolidation, even if they were over 1:1 or more in profit, something I'd probably do live. If I did I might have been able to reduce Losses Biggest losses seemed to come from: 1) Stopped out of trades that would've ended up winners 2. Missing profit targets by small margins (in a live trade account I'd probably have pulled out, once I saw something like divergence, potentially reducing losses) 3. The most frustrating when price is consolidating and jumping around the 200 ema, many losses even though chart met criteria to trade. I might've gotten better at spotting this and avoiding trades when this happens 4. Going for trades when it had already rallied well into the up or down side. And a pull back was imminent. It met my criteria so I made those trades at times. 5. Making trades when they were likely going to bounce back from a S/R. Usually I'd consider those regions but sometimes, the trade just made sense Although my last 50 trades were at 46 % win rate, perhaps I got better or I changed things up.

So I'd have a couple questions about scalping: the first is more of a general one and it's about TP/SL: is there a way to calculate instantly the prices to get a said %ROI? Second one is: if I'm scalping for 0.67% profit and -0.33% SL my trades might close at the stop loss price due to the high volatility of the market (I guess?) while in the next few candles the trend would have earned me a profit. Is there a particular strategy to avoid that or do I just need to place the SL further away? (As well as increasing the profit)

The RSI has a flaw. The use of the statement transp in the pine editor code needs to be modified because it is near depreciation date. It will stop working soon. That might be why they eliminated the indicator from the sites available options.

he refers to the 1h timeframe, cause scalping has a much higher prob. of success when trading with the major trend, this is where prices tend to go even when you are scalping (due to short-term volatility), you can see, for example, higher highs and higher lows.

I would say 5 min or less it definitely matters while the further you go out 1h, 2h, 3h… it matters less. This is not a swing trade it’s scalping. Short term direction and hold is the focus. That’s just my logic. I could be dead wrong.

I know this is dumb late, but when you do your first view of the day, I would use the 1hr chart to get a wider understanding of that day’s trend, then go to 1 minute or 5 minute during active trading times. Not a huge fan of a systematic strategy like this requiring drawing of support and resistance (as that’s subjective and entry could be missed while deciding), but overall I’m a fan of your logic on this. My systematic scalping strategy I have just a 1.5-1 R-R and I’m a bigger fan of that than 2-1 or more on scalping as it can get hit quite consistently (and also allow you to take advantage of smaller moves/have larger trade volume). Consistently hitting just 50% on 1.5 - 1 while having high trade volume can grow quickly.

Hi Arty, may I ask why people like to open several trades at a same time instead one trade with larger lot size? As what I understand, we are able to close part of the trade. For example, MT4 able to close 0.5 lot from the 1 lot trade and keep the another 0.5 lot in the market. Hope to get your clarify. Thanks.

If for example you place a trade and have four positions. And once your original take profit hits you want to close 75% of your trade you can close three of the four positions and let the fourth one run

@@TheMovingAverage And you can set TP targets for each position if you take multiples. You have to manually close out portions if you only have one bigger lot size trade and want to leave some of the position to keep running.

I do that too. The reason is that I want to take profit on different levels. You know like am so busy that I don't wanna come back to start doing all sort of modifications on each levels so I open different trade to take profit automatically on different levels each time they triggers. The only thing I adjust are my stop when the price move to break even

Its done for auto closure of half the total lot size.... Taking ur example.... If we place 1 lot size we wont be able to automatically close it when it reaches TP1... You have to close it manuay.... But if u place 2 lots of 0.5 each ... You could set TP of 0.5 lot at TP1 .... And let the other 0.5 run for TP2 or TP3.... In this way you wont have to sit in front of a screen while waiting for it to reach TP1 and close it manually

Stopping in to say hello and thank you. I might be one of the world's longest procrastinators. Been studying this stuff for over 10 years. Nothing is written in stone not even your stop losses I see moves that would blow past a stop loss. That's probably where your broker lets you off the train to all the way at the bottom.. 😂.. anyway keep the videos coming it's always fun even if they're repetitive and you're using the same strategies.
