Buying a phone is a 3-4 year investment, you don't go buy a phone every month. Good Build quality. All at an unbelievable price. Atleast they did not rip off like other phone manafacturers (looking at you apple). OP phones were well optimised to do whatever you threw at it. Hence it earned it 's nickname Flagship killer. One Plus was the go to phone if you wanted a phone. One Plus ruined everything with that price tag. The masses wouldn't mind their pace of innovation as long as the price was affordable. But now with this figures they are out of the ballpark. It just doesn't seem that you are getting value for money. It is like as if they have grown greedier. Come back to the basic concepts of business. Make as much money as you can. While you can. @@maximumclutch8113 I get it, and I respect your opinion. Honestly, I haven't used a punchhole phone longer than 30 mins at once. Something like the Note 10 is way better than the S10 or S10+, and you probably don't notice it after a while. But for fullscreen videos and just the idea of it. It's a compromise for me. People hated the new Pixel, but I loved it way more than the iPhones and other flagships. I just feel, my Note 8 is amazing. The display, the camera for my use cases, the battery for the age of my phone... you are a note user I don't need to go into it. That being said. I am at the end of my contract and I can upgrade, but I am waiting for the note 20 or 21 to get the under display technology, the latter sounding more realistic if I look at all the leaks of the S21. I want an ip68 rated uninterrupted display phone.

Same here. I have oneplus 3t, had it for years, still works great but might upgrade to 7t pro at the end of the year. It's currently 530ish and I'd imagine towards the year end it'll be even cheaper. Basically last year's flagships are more or less the same as current flagships. As theres not that big of a jump in tech so paying a grand for a phone just seems silly to me.

@@Saurabh-hx1yp It's probably more in the sense that in that price category, it's up against both the iPhone 11 Pro and the Pixel 4, both of which have excellent cameras in the context of smartphones. OnePlus historically hasn't been exactly stellar with cameras. In the past, people would be fine because they were saving money on them. Right now though, with this phone very nearly $1000 in price, it's inevitable that they're gonna compare it to nothing but the best and while this is the best OnePlus camera ever (I mean, that's obvious), they've still got some ways to go.

Everyone complained about OnePlus phones not having wireless charging and a water resistant rating. Now they have some of the fastest wireless charging on the market and the ips rating. Neither of those 2 options are cheap. So if you want the options you have to pay. And the OnePlus 8 pro is still a cheaper option than a lot of other flagships so I'd say it's still a flagship killer. Just my opinion

I've had my OnePlus 8 Pro since late May - Australian customer, I had to import it as they're still not selling them here officially. From personal experience, and from what I can tell reading various comments and threads, it seems after the few updates the device has gotten since it's release, this phone is now right up there in terms of all round features, camera quality, phone performance, etc with Apple and Samsung... honestly, I have used this thing heavily everyday for work and it's not let me down once.

They UI is not close to stock android or are polished as say Samsung's (never thought I'd say that after hating touchwiz). 2. I rewatched this video and even back on OnePlus 6 and 6T days I have been wanting to know what is the point of having an all screen bezel-free display of you'll be compromising or marring the fluidity of OLED panels with a notch or a hole punch cutout?! I said this then and I'll say it again, I for one still prefers having a thin top bezel given that there's no way yet that OEMs can perfectly hide the camera under the display without any compromises or sacrifices such as a pop up module. Besides they could've used that top bezel to introduce technologies such as Infrared based/3D ToF camera for more secured face unlock and depth sensing portrait photos. Unless they can perfectly hide the camera without holes and notches I would still prefer a top bezel just like in older Samsung Galaxy flagships (S8- Note9) rather than an impractical cutout or notch that mars the perfectness of an OLED screen.

i had a oneplus 3 upgraded to a pixel 2 and omg out of the three smartphones i've owned i tend to use them awhile and i had a Motorola razr in 2012 like a weirdy the oneplus 3 with oxygen os and the screen gesture control draw a circle on the screen it opens the camera draw a check mark you turn on the flash light is still my favorite smartphone i have owned

I'm also really disappointed they dropped the pop up camera, I own the 7 Pro and apart from wireless charging which I still don't consider worth it... You still need to be attached to a cable via the charging Dock anyway.. May as well just use the standard twice as fast warp charger..? Apart from that I don't see enough of an increase to warrant upgrading for... The cameras on the 7 Pro have had multiple updates and I do use gcam so photography is fine... Speed of course is fine... And I prefer the blue of the 7 Pro to the matt finish of the 8 pro... Camera hump seems to be bigger this year too....

I just picked up the OnePlus 7 Pro [8GB/256GB] at T-Mobile for $450. That's half the price of the 8 Pro with 128GB, which is not enough storage when there's no micro SD support. Is it really worth $450 more when there are still 2 years of Android updates coming to the 7 Pro ? 5G support means you can consume your monthly 50GB data allotment in a matter of minutes.
