@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
It’s a cool kit with a lot of lowrider parts. I’m not really into low riders but many of the kits I have seen have just wheels added. This one has a chain steering wheel, pumps, batteries, switches and some other stuff. I also have the Lindberg 61 Impala SS convertible. The two different boxes have lowrider wheels and tires but the kit has stock tires and more of a stock wire wheel also has fender skirts and spotlights. I want to make a stock one. So all I needed was the SS hubcaps from the hardtop kit.

You hooked me in with the Chevelle Street Machine Thumbnail! Did not seem like MCM subject matter at all. It was very surprising that a modern release like that Impala Lowrider suffered from Tire Burn. I thought the good deal bagging that kit manufacturers started doing would prevent that. The '83-'84 may be the best looking Fox Body in my opinion. I guess the increased power of the later Foxes overshadow the comparitively tepid power of those early Fox Bodies.
@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
That particular box is from 2001 and I was surprised as well since the parts are bagged but the tires were not. You never know for sure.

Lots of great stash adds!looks like you had a small case of Mustang fever!,that 83'Convertible is hard to find for a decent price now.Really interested in seeing how you build the 64'Chevelle are thinking coupe or convertible?,i remember you mentioning that before.
@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
Thanks. Yes been shopping for Mustang kits and should not be. Thankfully the channel is helping fund these. I don’t know if I will do a 64 conv or not. I did cut the roof off of my 65 Chevelle Z16 and that is looking like an easy one. I also have a Modelhaus Resin 64 GTO that I had planned to do the same thing. Just depends on how many AMT 65 GTO convertible boots I get my hands on.

Nice impressive stash adds this month! I just love the shape of the 1964 Impala and although I have had the AMT one for the last 20+ years and it's one of my overall favorite kits, I would love to build the Revell one as the lowrider since it is more modern. I remember my first '66 GT350 kit had in some parts from the 1965 model and I think the GT350H one does as well to this day, as I built the latest release of the GT350H two years ago. That early Mustang Fox body convertible would be a good companion piece to the newer 1991 model and the SVO owing to its relative uniqueness in the Mustang range is also a good one. The '66 Chevy is also a nice kit and your first build of that model was pretty good given how you modified it.
@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
Yes, I believe all of the 66 GT350's have the 65 side roof vents and the rear traction links in the kits. The Fox body kits will build pretty fast if built box stock. I have a 91 conv about 1/2 done but it is a custom and that is what slows some of these builds down.

Some years ago, I would drive out to Arizona on vacation, and visit relatives in Sun City every other year. Wish I wasn't so tied down now, would love living there in retirement. The circular layout of their streets always baffled me, though. I'm a bit annoyed by Round2 and Revell recently, when they don't include factory stock parts to complete the model. I have no interest in custom builds whatsoever, and I'm sure that many others think like me. For very little added expense, they could sell more kits overall, and keep everybody happier.
@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
It's funny but it is hard to get lost in Sun City if you can't leave. Just drive around in circles all day. I live really close to Sun City! I don't get why they take the time to remove some parts while others just leave them it. I wonder how much time (labor dollars verses plastic savings) is spent cutting those parts out. Round2 sometimes removes them also.
@rayrussell6258Ай бұрын
@@TheMuscleCarModeler lol, I got lost every time in a way, especially entering the maize upon arrival in the city and looking for the right place to turn (always got there at night ... and I was once a truck driver going city-to-city, never ever got lost!). Finally, I found a pay phone on the 1st trip into Sun City and called my relatives to come get me on Carefree Highway! We did that routine thereafter every time I visited them. lol

I bought that 66 Malibu SS 2’n1 kit recently. The box art shows it with BF Goodrich T/A Radial raised white letter tires. I bought that kit just for those tires for another build. I was disappointed to find only 4 plain skinny black wall tires in the kit. I contacted Revell asking if there was some mix up and the tires shown on the box were somehow not included, as the kit says 2n1 implying it could be built stock or custom like shown on box. They replied that the tires I had are all that comes in the kit, end of story, no “sorry you were misled,” no “we will send you four tires like shown in the box,” nothing. This was deceptive advertising and I promptly returned the kit for a refund. Word of caution, “Made in Chy-na”.
@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
I’ll have to check my kit. I’m sure I still have the tires from my original kit.
@TheMuscleCarModelerАй бұрын
I looked mine over and I have 2 skinny tires for the front and two wide tires for the rear. They are smooth side only, but the decal sheet does have the BF Goodrich Radial TA decals for the tires. Also, I don't get the 2in1 when you basically have two different hood scoops and two different decal packages.
@fratzogmoparsАй бұрын
Thanks for checking, you must have an older run not made in China. The kit I purchased had no Goodrich tire decals, and all four tires were skinny stock tires. The person from Revell had me send them a picture of the side of the box, right above the Revell logo there was a series of numbers, I guess they can determine from those numbers when and where the model was produced. Mine was a recent run made in China so I guess those are the ones that Revell feels they don’t have to deal with, they may not want to upset the apple cart. Only consolation was the kit was on sale at Hobby Lobby $17, which I got refunded. They lost me as a customer.
