the brother could have given a more convincing answer/explanation of free will. so let's start .. Allah(the one and only true god ) is all knowing I.e he knows the past, present ,future, every conditions etc . everything is under Allahs control. literally everything is decreed by Allah. for example Allah may decree I pass my exam based on my action/conditions. for example if I study I pass the exam if I don't study I fail the exam , this is the general rule , but sometimes what happens is even though I give my 100% I still fail , why? because Allah decreed so. Allah is all knowing all wise ,he is the best of planner so I don't get sad because I gave my 100% and it was the decision of Allah the almighty all wise all knowing . Allah knows the future he knows if I will study or not , but I don't know the future ,I don't know if I will pass or fail so I have to study and give my 100% then if I pass, alhamdulillah all praise is due to Allah , I don't give credit to myself because nothing happens generally or usually it happens by the will of Allah . if I know the future that I will be failed then of course I will not study. the concept of free will is that allah knows and we humans don't know . so if we don't know the future then we take action by our own free will and we are responsible for it . hope it helps

A merciful God needed a sacrifice to forgive? A sacrifice to forgive a sin that we didnt do which is unjust on us? I will stay in islam the true religion that doesnt need atonement for forgiveness, but sincere repentance to a merciful creator. Alhamdulillah
@crongo428410 ай бұрын
So youre telling me that God cant forgive anyone directly but he needs to sacrifice his innocent 'son' to do so? Thats limited forgiveness + thats atonement even not forgiveness. The 'son' did not even know he was gonna be 'sacrificed'. How is that merciful? Why cant you repent directly to God and be forgiven? Isnt that fit for the most merciful? May Allah guide you.

So the Most Merciful, the Most Forgiving, cannot forgive without blood? Alhamdulillah for islam, where Allah, the truly most forgiving and merciful can forgive without blood of an innocent human being, letalone one of the most noble messengers (Isa عليه السلام). ۚ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ يَغْفِرُ ٱلذُّنُوبَ جَمِيعًا ۚ إِنَّهُۥ هُوَ ٱلْغَفُورُ ٱلرَّحِيمُ Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed He is the most Forgiving, the Merciful (Quran 39:53).
@crongo428410 ай бұрын
So taking an innocent person, and forcing all sins on him is "just", and not being able to forgive without punishment is "Most Forgiving" Ezekiel 18:19-20 “Yet you say, ‘Why should the son not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity?’ When the son has practiced justice and righteousness and has observed all My statutes and done them, he shall surely live. The person who sins will die. The son will not bear the punishment for the father’s iniquity, nor will the father bear the punishment for the son’s iniquity; the righteousness of the righteous will be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked will be upon himself. How can God contradict himself?

Assalamu Alaikum to my fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, and hello to everyone else watching this video. I've just finished watching the video and I wanted to share a summary of the key points discussed. The video discusses free will, evolution, and doubt in the context of Islamic beliefs. The brother explains the Islamic perspective on these topics and emphasizes the importance of certainty in essential beliefs. The conversation provides insight into Islamic teachings and addresses common questions and misconceptions. 00:00: Journey to Islam and Grappling with Free Will 00:14: James shares his journey, including receiving a Quran unexpectedly. 02:36: James discusses his struggle with understanding free will and God's responsibility for evil acts. 04:03: Understanding Free Will and Determinism in Islam 04:03: Determinist, libertarian, and compatibilist perspectives exist in Islam. 04:26: In Islam, there is one true idea of free will, but heretic beliefs also exist. 05:53: The concept of free will and determinism is fundamental and applies to all, regardless of religious beliefs. 08:05: Differences in Evolution Theories and Islamic Perspective 08:06: Different theories of evolution are not universally agreed upon in the scientific field. 08:43: Islamic perspective rejects the idea of humans evolving from a single cell organism. 11:29: Rejects the concept of randomness and doubts in Islamic belief. 12:09: Understanding Doubt and Certainty in Islam 12:23: Doubt in Islam is different from having questions. 13:05: Certainty in essential beliefs is crucial in Islam. 13:30: Levels of certainty in Islam: belief, seeing, and experiencing.

Wow the free will determinism question has been one of my biggest struggles in my journey and he is 100% right i never thought that this problem is not unique to islam at all and id have to grapple with it no matter what creed i follow. I may have to do more research on determinism in islam for my mind to rest on the issue but this information was like a sigh of relief for me. The problem didnt go away in my mind but i honestly can not blame it on islamic doctrine. I just never could get past the idea that if god its truly all knowing then even if he gave me a "choice" the fact that he knows what i will chose would essentially mean that IF i chose the path of hell, well then it would stand that he created knowing i was heading for the hellfire with my choices. So why create me in the first place if he KNOWS im going to make the bad choices? This is the only real problem i ever had with islam but in reality it is a problem that exists under every creed.

I think he didn’t have the time to answer the last question about ‘doubt’ fully. The answer is: every single thing in islam makes sense, and with the increase in your knowledge in both islam & science you will see the proofs very very clearly in your daily life. Once you become muslim and read more and more you will never be in doubt. It just that you have to learn more and work on yourself more. I swear to Allah you can reach a great satisfaction that stems from the confidence you gain from being a muslim.

But all I want is good evidence that Allah exists.
@TheOnlyPeacfulLife10 ай бұрын
@@hmgrraarrpffrzz9763 There are more than you can count. But there are conditions for you to see them. Many of them are right infront of you, but when you have inner thoughts that block you, you won’t see them. For example, ‘vanity’ is one of the things that block your view. If your not open minded enough to see it you won’t see it. Like when you think you or humans are self sufficient and don’t need a creator although everyday he is giving you stuff and protecting you from stuff, like the child saying no I don’t need parents I can do life on my own at age of 3. Or after they did all they did to make him survive until age 12 he now say I didn’t even need u guys I could’ve done it alone. Because he doesn’t realise what they did, how many nights his mother was awake for him or how many things they went through to pay the bills that he takes for granted, of course Allah is almighty and he’s never tired or asleep but that’s just to show u how ungrateful the human is when he/she doesn’t even want to acknowledge what is being done for them. A step after that is when you look at the sky, how can you even think for a second that all the balance in the air alone that is suitable for humans, plants, ..etc how can all of that be a coincidence? If a small fault in the balance of oxygen alone we will all die in seconds. How can we be so delusional to say all of this is not done for us by a very strong power? We can never fix any oxygen level on any planet, we can never fix our financial or health systems let alone the oxygen levels on a new planet 😂. When someone is so educated they start to realise that this all balanced details I’m seeing in my field can NEVER be a coincidence. That’s why when a scientist can put their personal biases on the side they easily say that YES there’s a creator. You can zoom in and then zoom out (i.e look at the very small very VERY accurately balanced systems inside your body that u can never do something like them admire how accurate those systems are then do the opposite see the outter galaxies 🌌 and how all is also balanced in a magnificent way). Allah order us to always look at his creations and contemplate to see how great his powers are. There are many many others ways of letting your brain outside the box its in, such as also reading the detailed history that Allah told us about in the Quran and kept some proofs for us to find in the places those historical events occurred.

First word revealed to The Prophet (pbuh) was ‘Read’. A call to action. Allah wants us to read, study, and learn! It helps to cast doubt, ignorance, etc. Read the entire Qu’ran as the first step. Blind faith is not good, but neither is excessive questioning. Secondly, I’ve been looking into quantum computing and physics. It’s a way of solving complex problems faster. I think of how incredible Allah is, The Originator of the Heavens and Earth , to know everything at all times, the past, present, future, and He Knows what decisions we will make. Allah has the ability, unlike us, but we continue to make advancements in science, computers, technology that people of the past would think it was magic being used.

I once questioned my mother on the concept of free will in Islam, since I couldn't wrap my head around this. Her answer was beautiful. She said, "Imagine if Allah Almighty has written in your future for you to be successful, but there is a condition. The condition being you have to work hard. So, if you work hard, you will be successful, but if you do not, then you will not. " This is the concept of free will. You have choices that can be made that pave the way of your life, sort of like a would you rather, but your playing with your destiny and you have no skip or go back buttton.
@AbdulazizKider10 ай бұрын
I wouldn't say that is necessarily the case cause there are things that won't apply in the case you mentioned. Besides, it is not just about the final point(in this case, you being successful), but it also includes every single detail that happens before you become successful. Think of it this way, Allahﷻ is all knowing, so he knows what is in the future. Your future is already written down, but this doesn't mean that you have no free will. It is already recorded, not because Allahﷻ will force you to do it, but because that is what you are going to do. So, in the example you gave above, if Allahﷻ has written down you being successful in the future, then that will happen no matter which path you take, but please don't understand it in the wrong way. You will never know what is destined for you until it passes, so all you have to do is put in the work both in your deen and in your worldly life. There is a hadith about it, actually, I haven't watched the video yet, but I think it will be mentioned since it deals directly with this subject.

I get the first question alot from people when we speak about Allah and what normally makes them get over the hurdle is when i explain god in the Quran speaks about 3 creations , one being the angel which is perfect and does not have free will so no evil exist amongst them but we are another creation made from clay who have free will again if we didnt and were made perfect with no option of choice we would be angles cause if we were perfect we would not want to party or commit sin we would just want to obey and glorify our creator. Let me know what you guys think ?

But if God knows what I do before I do it, what free will is there? Like, God knows that in one year I will choose between an orange and an apple, and he knows I will choose the orange. So what choice do I have, if it's already decided?

I actually used to struggle with that question myself but I guess sense answers the question. I don’t remember which surah but Allah mentions how if He were to give disbelievers another chance to believe they would choose disbelief again. Allah also mentions that disbelief is caused through your actions. So if you continually choose haram, you’re choosing to disbelieve. Islam also comes to people in their lifetime and they choose to turn away from it. That’s a choice. That’s free will.

Yeah I always confuse my personal questions or worry of doubts as doubts Like when I had a question about something I ask myself am I doubting? And then I would get worked up about this potential to doubt and scare myself before correcting myself
