► Then And Now Portraits of Centenarians
► Hello everyone and welcome back to Mystery Scoop.
A photographer captures the faces of a century and the results are truly fascinating. Ageing is a natural process and people's appearances change with the passing of time. Spotting the difference isn't always easy in day to day life though. On the other hand, Czech photographer Jan Langer, photographed over a dozen centenarians and compared photographs taken while they were young, to those taken when they were over 100 years old. The comparative photos explore the similarities and the differences in appearance. The effects of time become apparent and there's a profound sentimental aspect to it. Please check the video, to see these incredible photos, with a touch of AI animation.

It's very interesting how our noses and ears keep growing, as our lips and eyebrows thin out. I am also reminded of a quote from Eleanor Roosevelt: Beautiful young people are accidents of nature; beautiful old people and works of art.

I couldn't help but look at their noses and ears, but I never previously thought about the lip factor. Marie Bruešová was utterly stunning when younger and a product of nature, at 101....or of blessed bone structure or she always had something to smile about. No sagging around her mouth or chin 🤔

They don't actually grow. The rest of the face loses volume- the combination of loss of facial bone mass, tooth loss, buccal fat pad loss and loss of the collagen frame work beneath the skin that leads to wrinkles, hollowing, sagging and inelasticity, so it only appears that the more cartilaginous structures of the nose and ears grew larger in contrast.

This gave me such sadness, time is so cruel and passes by so fast. We remain young in our souls but unfortunately the body doesn’t and sometimes it’s very difficult to deal with it😔😭

The saving grace is as we get older. We are more ready to accept moving on to the next phase. I know there is Heaven because of my faith in Jesus. I am not afraid of death. Aging is the hard part. And seeing loved ones pass. I’m more afraid of what leads up to death, but I know He will be with me.

I too found this profoundly sad… especially the elderly beautiful woman whose wish it was merely to die. Behind every lovely line in these faces I am sure is a story to be shared. How nice it would be to give them a platform from which to tell their stories, and not be just a witness to their transformed faces.

One of my favorite memories is being able to enjoy my great grandmother who lived to 102. The stories and history she would tell me was better then any book or tv show. I could listen to her for hrs. I live in a very large farming community now and take fresh produce and eggs to our local elderly. They to have so much knowledge and stories, they absolutely love telling and teaching. It's ashame many elderly don't have anybody to tell their stories to. We should consider our elderly as priceless possessions. And cherish them.

I always love your videos; I have become a great fan; in this one, I noticed something I always suspected, and that is men always age better than women,

Um what?? Not true. To me, both men and women aged similarly. I think it has way more to do with genetics and environment than gender. Also, women are expected to look young and attractive for as long as possible so maybe you were basing your judgment off of that notion.

If it does tend to be true I bet its because having children and them breaking your heart ages a mother more than anyone can understand.

I've seen comments that say I love talking to elderly people. But that almost makes it sound like we're a separate species. Just say I love talking to a variety of people of all ages.

Our appearance changes based on many factors as we age, but we are always the same on the inside. People are often treated based on their externals. But I wish in senior facilities that everyone would have a photo on their door as they looked when young, so even if they are old, bedridden, or sick, visitors and staff can see these seniors as they looked when young and healthy.

You can tell the person through their eyes such beautiful moments of their lives caught on camera they still look beautiful in their old age ,feel for the lady whose wish is just to die y she feels her life has come to its end and is just waiting for some peaceful rest 🌸

What would be really interesting would be to take the youth photo and have it aged by the computer, then compare that version to what the person actually looks like today.
