Absolutely loved this clip..... Grew up in New Basford and remember many of the buildings... Going with my Dad to the dole office on David's lane... Cycling up the ramps and down the grass banks of the flats.... Walking home from Heathfield primary school and going past the Futurist... Seems like a different lifetime.... The Shoulder of Mutton then becoming Thingymagigs.... Crazy..... Keep up the great work......

I was born in the back of a bread shop on Lincoln street .my mum was homeless and my gran had to ask the lady baker if she had a spare room.great life and makes you humble and street wise.had nothing but love

Does anyone remember pinketts sweet shop, saxbys ,my nona and grandpa lived at the bottom end of bar lane. Crike this brings back memories. Though we moved south. I loved growing up round there, the carlton dance hall the clock clack of the stilettos on Friday night, the ice on the inside of the windows. Me an mi little sis going down the twitchle long way round to pinketts.

I can just about remember those flats, my nan lived close by at the time. I think I was about six or seven when they were being demolished, I think there was a crane with a big ball and chain attached, that was used to destroy them - would have been early 1985 I think? Speaks volumes that they only lasted for 14 years. Didn't know anyone who lived there, so I have no idea what it was like to live in them.

Great work with an interesting choice of music! Those flats look nasty. Would probably not have moved here if they'd still been there.

Thanks Phil, although I haven't got a clue what prompted me to use that particular piece of music lol. Yes the flats were nasty, a total eyesore and waste of money. They were completed in May 1971, and demolished only 14 years later.

@@paulturton9755 If I remember right, Nottingham is still paying for the loan to have the flats built and still paying the other loan to have them demolished.
