What I've been noticing from exploring older cemeteries are those Obelisk, they all date as far back as late 1800's to early 1900's. I'm noticing the older tombstones, with Masonic Symbols and you will always see them in a group.

In that time frame there was big Egyptian revival movement going on in culture, and that's when people began putting up obelisks as grave markers, some even had pyramid shaped mausoleums built. And you're right about the Masonic symbols on headstones usually appearing together in cemeteries. It seems that it was very common for fraternal orders to have their own burial grounds.

Love these videos. Your voice also kind of reminds me of Richard Dreyfuss when he narrated Stand By Me. You got my Subscribe :)

It's funny how peoples imagination can run wild. They all thought that the noises they were hearing, was ghosts. Rumors, that probably spread like wild fire, finally reaching the police. Not even thinking there was probably a reasonable explanation for all the noises . The local police has to go out and investigate. Can you imagine what those policeman thought, when they started hearing of these rumors and probably getting those reports , & then , Finding none other than , a Speak Easy. That is funny. Too bad the original building is gone, that would have been interesting to see. Love how it peeked your intrest to follow up on all this historical information. The Ivy Chapel, and all the changes that have taken place over time. I love these walks, Matt. From the great historical to the even comedic, as seen here. You just never know what you'll find. Thanks Matt , I enjoy all your videos.

Thank you Victoria! Yes, that speakeasy story was something. I suspect it was written with tongue firmly planted in cheek, but I bet the speakeasy proprietors thought they were pretty clever choosing the location they did... until they were caught that is... Haha! :)
