The first actor pronounciation is good. When he speaks english in the movie it literally sounds like someone who speak well but tried to make mistake in purpose. Too good for someone who said to be learn only from text book (the character in the movie I mean)

Watch Jun Yeol in traveler. He speaks basic English and doesn't sound bad at all. It helps him through the trip. Lee Byung Hun was a language major in college and had many hollywood projects, so no wonder if his English is good. I watched him in All In and I think it started there. They're both my top five favorite actors.

The first guy speaks basic English, broken English, sufficient for basic conversation for travelling. Byung Hun is already at somewhere between intermediate-advance level where he can make more grammatically correct sentences, to make longer explanation and able to hold long conversation.

There is no such thing as an expert at how people speak English. And if there were, he would not be Korean.
@lynninpain4 жыл бұрын
I disagree. There are several countries whose native tongue is English, and though the dialects can vary considerably even within those countries, some people can definitely judge how proficient someone is who speaks it as a second language. There are Koreans who have grown up in English speaking countries who could judge it just as well as anyone else from those countries. The person judging has to be acquainted with the particular dialect (I mean dialect, not a foreign accent) that person is using of course, because believe me if you're not used to some dialects that are vastly different from your own it can be extremely difficult to understand. Personally I have friends whose English is flawless but have distinctive African dialects that took time to get used to, as well as a Glaswegian (Scottish from Glasgow) friend that I didn't always understand. The funny thing is, the most difficult dialect I've ever encountered was from my own country. I'm from the north and they were from Louisiana and I could scarcely understand a word!

@nya___nya4 жыл бұрын
Ummmm...Where exactly did you find it really rude? He was acting it perfectly 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 it was actually flattering that he is conscious to how the English language is enunciated by most Filipino. No one was looking down on no one.. the movie depicts reality. You being offended, thinking they are degrading the Filipino English accent, reflects that you subconsciously also is looking down to the accent. We are stereotypical, every country has their own stereotypes.. Own it, embrace it, that is what we are. Anyway, your opinion 😅 mine doesn't really matter.. just had too many things to say 🤣

@@gigiart1631 the character he is portraying is a Filipino businessman not a filipino who is not fluent in English. Come to think of it, if our accent is like that do u think koreans will flock in our country to study english? Filipino who are in Luzon has neutral accent but normally people associate Filipino accent to those who are in Visayas especially if they want to make fun of our accent.

@@kimchiekim5411 Indians actually have the best English system but they do have accent. Accent and the understanding of English are two different thing. The accent he did is not perfect but it’s definitely close, if you show any foreigner they’d say he did good. Though not all Filipinos speak with this accent, majority do.

@@gigiart1631 i love Indians, I worked with lots of Indians in UAE for 13 years. They were being colonised by the british so they follow British English System. The accent of Lee Byun Hun in that movie is a Chinese one and the filipino accent we are being associated with is the Visayas but if u will go to Luzon especially if u will go to top schools and universities and huge companies it is not how it was being imitated but cant argue about the acting of Lee Byun Hun I am a huge fan though superb acting ability especially in Iris Korean drama!

@@kimchiekim5411 I live in Luzon. I didn’t say you don’t like indian. I’m just pointing out accent and knowledge of English is different. Same with my country, we were colonised by The British so our knowledge of English is there but our accent is still there. All I’m saying is the accent he did impersonating was good and actually quite accurate. I’ve never really met someone from visaya but I’ve heard the accent he did a lot here in Luzon and Manila. At since I grew up here in Philippines, I’m pretty sure Philippines was colonised by America who enforced the English language here.
