Such a well-constructed sonata! Not to mention how pretty it sounds.

Got to say (and no shade to the performer) I think this is the kind of piece that would benefit greatly from higher fidelity sound. This is a simultaneously rich and concise piece - everything needs to be heard.

For me a beautiful performance of this beautiful Sonata is the performance of Anna Shelest....i hate those who are only able to compare a piece of music with another instead of just listening the music....a little bit like her brother, a little bit like Schumann Beethoven Liszt.. and my sister .... it is so pédant...

I've only heard a few pieces by Fanny Mendelssohn, but I've liked every single one. History has been unjust to women composers, and in Mendelssohn's case, that's been particularly cruel given her immense talent.

Beautiful playing. Scherzo gives me Rachmaninov vibes. Love it!

The Opening Bass Tremolos and Opening Chordal figures sounds like his younger brother's Piano Concerto No. 1 also in g minor.

True. But it reminds me even more of the opening of Weber’s second sonata.

Very nice song! Where do you find that complete song? I ordered the 1st part and got it, but I can't find the other parts to it. I'd aprreciate if you could tell me, and also tell me that names of the other parts.

Some of the worst playing I’ve ever heard. The chords are so “crunchy” and badly shaped. Too many liberties with the rhythm. Overall, really bad.

It’s a shame the playing is so incredibly bad, especially in the first movement. This is a very beautiful piece and needs better voicing and more sympathetic pedaling.
