I like how Phil released that beautiful brown trout by showing its body but keeping its head and gills in the water. Well done Phil. Can’t be too careful with such a precious resource. Very enjoyable video.

Lovely. Thanks. We're allowed back out to fish from Wednesday in the UK. Can't wait. Hoping we haven't missed all this year's mayfly action.

Hi Guys. Great video (as usual!) I do not recall you ever speaking about degreasing your leader/tippet - is that something you do? Best wishes from a locked-down Wales, UK.

Question for ya. Why would you have a right handed retrieve reel when you cast with your right hand? Seems counter productive having to switch hands while fighting a fish. 🤷♂️🤔

Good question....not sure why?

If I use a dropper under my floating fly it pulls my dry fly under? And tips.
@farmerbob45544 жыл бұрын
Anthony lagan Hi. Don’t use bead head nymphs under your dry fly or go to a larger dry fly or a foam-body dry or a smaller nymph. If I use a #16 zebra midge or pheasant tail I can float a #16 foam humpy for instance. Good luck.
@newflyfisher4 жыл бұрын
Anthony, Farmer Bob's comment is right on. Common mistake to use too heavy a nymph or to small/light of dry fly. Just adjust nymph size to work with the dry fly you believe is correct for the conditions. Cheers

Great vid. Two thoughts: don't take the fish out of the water and don't handle them. Use a device like the Ketchum Release, so you never have to do so.

Cracks me up. Getting intimate with the fish? .... Us fly fisherman can get as weird as golfers with our fancy words, terms, dressing, gear, etc. Hell, I think each time I present my fly to a trout I'm going to start yelling... FOUR! LOL
