The US judge who "convicted" and released Assange stated what Assange revealed didn't endanger anyone or put anyone at risk. The criminality is that fellow journalists 99% (including Reuters) didn't come together to support him.

a self- styled journalist with no press credentials is not entitled to the same leniencies among the press corp with those credits - and had he faced the music sooner this would have ended years ago .. of course he really wanted the drama whether fame or infamy he's had his 5 minutes....can we now remove him from the news feed he was a fool then and if you want privacy stop sending press releases and having photo ops we'd rather he stayed out of sight he's caused enough bother drama and money for all of us... he's no hero

Well they think the enemy of their enemy is their friend if you report a crime they think you an enemy a "friend" should just turn a blind eye to such things. Israel is probably annoyed by all the evidence of their recent war crimes too and being accused of genocide journalism is a dangerous business apparently.

It’s ironic that the CIA spokesperson is talking about the first amendment- freedom of speech - as if the government has never lied to the American public to keep the war machine going. His comments on the legal protections afforded to non citizens are naive and disingenuous. The UK professor needs some media training - saying um in every sentence made him sound unsure and unprepared.
