Listening to this while watching any road race now is amazing.

That faint glissando at the end as it careens off the side of a mountain always sends shivers down my spine...

Absolutely iconic song of my youth….all talking stopped when this started playing, I would race out afterwards and blast up the road on my BMX!!

Awesome tune..... takes me right back to 1987 TDF and beyond...... this needs to be remastered and included in the TDF today!

I’d bet my last French franc that the ending of this track is an intentional sample of the start of the nursery rhyme ‘Frère Jacques’. I know I always use to subliminally sing that at the end of the Channel 4 Tour de France ending credits.

wish the family would allow someone to remaster this track maybe for charity i would pay no issue to have a high res version of this masterpiece

I’d pay good money to have this on Spotify or even on mp3. Impossible to find and kinda baffling how it was never released properly

ITV should go back to this music for the TDF. So much better than the current music they use.

I'm still hopeful this will be re-instated rather than the current ITV drivvle.

I always thought it was a piece of music produced by the main company which dealt with the broadcasting/franchising of the tour de france globally, its cool C4 put that much effort into it.

It was never recorded by Buzzcocks, but by Pete Shelley, recording as 'ZIP'. The definitive, and rock hard version of 'Give It To Me', was as part of the 12" of 'Never Again', with an extended version of the 7" B-Side, '111'. Pete Shelley put out an electronic album, called 'Sky Yen', in 1980. That's astonishing, too. His solo albums, (which are all superb), 'Homosapien'; 'XL1', and 'Heaven And The Sea', are all worth your time. A bit later, he made an album with Buzzcocks' original frontman, and vocalist for the brilliant Magazine, Howard Devoto, with the title 'Buzzkunst'. Now that is a fine record.
