The man on the horse looks like Robert E Lee. His war gelding was Traveler who was white. Hat isn't confederate but he was quite a horseman and died a few years after the end of the American Civil War. I was a bit surprised a few years ago to learn Traveler was a gelding but it makes sense trying to command a battle on a skittish stallion would be a challenge.

Why am I not 30 years younger, living in the States and doing the same as what you are doing!😂 No,I am 68 and I live in the Netherlands…but I learned so much from you and some other KZbinrs, that I have been able to buy some really good deals in the thrift store where I draw cards together with a great group of women and a few man. My house is quite full now and I have to start putting stickers on the worthy items.I also learned a lot from my parents who loved to go haunting for antiques..😁 You found some real treasures here.🙏🏻🥰

This was fun! There were so many great items, you couldn't go wrong. I read the Seabiscuit book by Laura Hillenbrand before the movie came out. I highly recommend the book--you would love it. There is so much more in the book, including a lot of interesting racing history. The author really did her research, and managed to make it an entertaining read as well. After I heard they were making a movie, I knew I had to see it in the theater (where I rarely go.) The best part was after the movie ended. So many of the other people in the theater were older folks who had lived through following and rooting for Seabiscuit during his career. And as the credits began to roll, these people stood up and gave an ovation, many of them crying. It still tears me up thinking about it. Have a great day! 💞💕💞

I am watching late so my comment will do you no good. Still, ou held up a painting with a man on a white horse at an estate sale and wondered who he was. You commented that his horse looked kind of sad. I nearly laughed aloud. All by myself....so that was a portrait of the very famous General Robert E Lee.....on his just as famous horse that Robert E Lee rode into every battle. That was his horse Traveller. I paint horses and Traveller was his baby. So as a print it may not have been worth much but researching is my favorite part of thrifting....so I'm just sharing for the fun of it.😊

That hanging lamp is a 1960s spaghetti lamp. I cant find them under 150.00. The luckite table and wine rack would go anywhere. Vintage clothing, especially coats and jackets sell. I use a mounted wine rack for towels in the guest bath. The fountsin frog 🐸 the best. I want santa! Sell the size small sweater. Easy to ship. I would never be excited by a fossil bag, even it was free. I would have gone back for the santa and mrs Clause .
