Adding Product Categories to Menus in WooCommerce and WordPress Tutorial

This is not the default way to do this, because it uses hardlinks - and if the category's slug changes later, you will need to reflect changes in the menu as well-, leading to more work and possible mistakes. The correct way is to go to "Screen Options" (top right button), select Product Categories in order to show the product categories (on the left bar after Pages, Posts, Categories, ecc.) Then you can use the built-in function to add categories automatically selecting them from the left pane (when added to the menu, ID will be preserved, so menu pages will stay linked to the real pages). Use the hardlinks method only when you cannot do anything else or you have particular needs (for example query strings parameters)

Go to appearance->menus move your mouse to the top right corner of your screen where it says "Screen Options", pull that tab down and check "Product Categories".

it works, all what i needed is a custom link menu, associate the products to a specific menu category then create a custom link menu attached to it, it works finally.

I am still deciding between Prestashop and Woo, but Woo looks nicer. Nina... some advice. Either suspend your microphone off of your work surface or put something under your keyboard to insulate the noise of keyboarding from your microphone. If you use Camtasia Studio, enable noise canceling and it will greatly reduce the hum. Suspending the microphone was the best thing that I ever did. Have fun. Thanks for your help.

On your dashboard go to appearance then customize which opens page and on left side you’ll see header listed so click on that to have options to reposition ur menu. Hope this helps as I’m new to this too and have been struggling but getting better at learning how to do certain things.

When I do it on my site, by adding category, then show category to copy the link, thereafter to pate it in a custom link, it does not appear, so I assume on every site where a menu is created, it should appear as a drop down?

I have a question. We have an E commerce (using WooCommerce) Thrift store and our search on the shop page is not working correctly. Evidently we have something added incorrectly. If customer does a search and it is Women>Pants>Size 10...women is primary...the search also pulls up some boys and girls size 10. Not sure how to correct this. When my customers click on the "womens" button, there are submenus "bracelets" "necklaces" and "earrings" When they click on "earrings" I want it to open to a page full of earrings that they can choose from.
