thanks yo any idea what size mini logo riser pads he's using...? i wasn't sure but figured the .10".. I was about to get the mini logo 8.38 because I thought my thunder 149's were 8.5... which is wider than the 8.38 mini logos... and if i were to get andy's even newer Vajra deck which is 8.4 at the trucks, would my thunder 149 be too wide for that?

Its the board of been waiting for since I started skating again in 2006. Started in 1984 and ended up eventually going through about 15 Powell Peralta Mike V's. Then partied for a decade (even though im sure i had a board in the corner of my room) and when that was over wanted to skate again. Bought a popsicle, totally alien to me, but did my best with it. Rolled around ever since but couldn't get my head around it until I finally worked out I needed a square tail, something I learned everything with, but couldnt find a popsicle with a square tail. Also needed a bigger wheel base, again something that just felt right to me after 15 Mike V's. Ordered Andys new deck and I cant get over how good it is. Everything feels right. Also after doing my first ollie the word 'pop' entered my brain, something I didnt expect being 50, goofy, and with a left knee/shin bone full of metal (half pipe mishap in 20012). Hit the streets and everything came back, no complys on point, ollies feeling better than ever and confidence just came back. And for the first time in my life I now have both trucks equally set, no choice as its symmetrical, and that's a game changer for me...coming from a skater who for 35 years has had a back truck way tighter than the front. No doubt I will eat shit again but for now I'm feeling very good on this board. Its the best board I've ever skated and just feels right on all aspects. You can really feel the thought that's gone into it. Well done Andy this is another winner.

Bearing spacers lock the centre barrel of the bearing so only the outer barrel spins and the bearing works properly, two washers are also advised, using washers with no spacers will eventually concave your bearings, the spacers distribute the tension through the entire hanger length making the board more generally durable with stronger control..... I've a degree in analytic philosophy and had a midlife crisis 😅🫒😋
@mytorment9 ай бұрын
Riding with loose wheels is dangerous and probably a lot slower, it will also wear into your axel pin where the inner barrel of the bearing slowly and constantly is grinding against it 😅 I'm a total newbie, genuinely sorry condescendingly explaining this to pros (also Andy if the keep your kingpin bolt like a star of david pointing up and down with flat sides it will turn much better, having points to the side will turn wider, abd having a crooked star will make your board wander 😅👍😇🫒)

Honestly, I may have bought all 3 of his flight decks, both sizes of the last shape, and finally just was able to get his new shape all in fully built completes. His wheels are also exactly what I was looking for too. I always rode with 56mm powell peralta g-slides, but having his wheel being just slightly harder changed the entire experience. It made park skating much better while still being able to get great slides on both rough terrain, and smooth concrete. This guy really changed the whole game for me.

I feel like no other skater uses so much of their board, parts of the setup that most people don't even touch Andy has a practical use for. I Really like the idea of the wheels covering the axel nuts but that's a wide ass wheel! Asymmetrical wouldn't work for me because I egg the hell out of wheels and have to rotate. The only alternative is to make them symmetrical but wider again but that would add weight and rolling resistance making them slower. Super interesting to think about though!
