That clip is so sick! It's effortless with crazy air too. Yuto started as a vert skater as a young kid in Japan, which a lot of people don't know. There are a few contest vids if him at like 12 years old killing vert. He probably would have become a vert pro had he not switched to street. But he can still do both with insane talent.

Japan has a strong culture of dedication and commitment to anything. Kids are encouraged to pursue activities from a very early age. Skating schools in Japan where parents drop their kids while they work are a thing. And I'm sure the music schools are as common as well. There's just a lot of focus on hard work ethics and competitiveness in that country, which might also tell why the suicide rate on young people tends to be high.
@sashagreysfatass84393 жыл бұрын
@@nikinovski skating schools?
@nikinovski3 жыл бұрын
@@sashagreysfatass8439 ok, no such thing as skating schools per se, but from what I've read, parents get a lot more involved into their kids skating, they hire coaches, sign them up for skate classes at local skate parks. Most kids start skating by the age of 3, and I think there's more push for building skateparks (even atop buildings) because skating in the streets is mostly prohibited or at least seen as meiwaku-koi (bothersome behavior). As a result, skating has more of an organized sport activity aspect and that breeds a lot more competition than the anti establishment, self expression way we perceive it here in the west. I can imagine after the olympics, this trend will only increase.

That Houston rail is in Tranquility Park, downtown right next to city hall. It used to have a type of sun shade/cover things but they took them out years ago. It’s still the same rail. The city at one point bolted a trash can to the end of it to make it not skateable but I’m sure the bums were paid handsomely to keep tearing it off of the rail.

A new Grosso Loveletters thing just came out on Japanese skateboarding and it looks like Japan has seriously had the next level shit going on for a long time. Yuto is kinda known as a contest skater in the US, but I wonder if he really grew up skating street in Japan. Because those Japanese spots look pretty jacked. I think you could take some of those Japanese street dudes to some of these perfect American spots and they'd just destroy the place.
@morgellon94493 жыл бұрын
@ANYTHNG G03S Yeah, I figured. I just watched his part after watching this nine club thing and there was one trick, a real quick wallie 5-0, that reminded me a lot of that Japenese street style I saw in that new Grosso piece. They were going to release it for the Olympics this year, but that didn't happen. RIP Grosso. I'm definitely going to check out those skaters that were on that Loveletters thing; the Japanese street scene looks very distinct, as much as East Coast or San Diego stuff here in the states has been over the years. Really digging that stuff.
