Great tablet, super clear display, excellent ebook reader, good performance, great battery life, super fast... Best money/value option in my opinion. I bought the iPad 3 when it came out, for 650€, but at that time it was the only tablet with retina display, great resolution. I only bought it to read books, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. But now was getting very slow in web browsing, so it was time to go. This Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 plus really is a great deal, and you convinced me to get one. Lenovo, give this man a Yoga! ;)

So I'm looking for an ereader tablet. You said you got the iPad to read books. How does this Lenovo hold up? Portrait and landscape both work well for reader software? Eyestrain, and does it get heavy? Thanks!!

I really like the iPad to read books, the iBooks is an excellent app. I only sold it because it was getting too slow for web browsing. But the truth is, I really really liked this Yoga tablet, the reading experience is fenomenal! It has a warmer feeling compared to the iPad, the whites are not so eye-straining; if you get an app that satisfies your reading experience, you will definitely enjoy this Yoga. The display is absolutely gorgeous! The sound, like Damir said, is outstanding! Although it's a bit weird holding it, because of the design, I think we get used to it after a while, but do have that in mind. It's not heavy to hold, especially in landscape mode, but the portrait mode is a little bit more tiring because of the unbalanced weight. So, all in all, would I recommend it? Absolutely! Once you start reading on it, or even web browsing, you get a very enjoyable experience. The display and sound are great! Right now I would only change this for a tablet with a matte display... ;)

Excellent, honest, and extensive review, cheers Damir. I have had this Tab for about 5 months now and it has been fantastic. Yes, it's weighty, but the battery life, gorgeous screen and the excellent speakers make it a beast. And like you I use the stand all the time. My only gripe is the USB-C port does not support video out....if it did this tab would be even more awesome. I guess you could say that if they put a full Thunderbolt 3 port and a more powerful processor in the next version, this tablet would destroy all competition...in my humble opinion. Thanks very much for this - great review! In Canada, this is only $40 more than the Tab A (no pen) 10 and $70 less than the Asus Zenpad 3s 10. I ordered this based on your comments re: which one you prefer, can't wait for it to arrive! I'm going to be using it predominantly for drawing and media.

pui teng I got it this afternoon. it's really good. I have a SD820 in my phone and it is noticeably faster than the tablet, but it's not a big deal. The screen is gorgeous, as is the sound. I'm really happy with it.

Oliver Harrison how is it for drawing? Does it support the "anypen" technology? Good palm rejection? Im considering buying one too, mainly for netflix and youtube, but if it works well I may use it for note takingtoo.

Jessie S hi Jessie. it's great for drawing, using a capacitive stylus. it doesn't support anypen, and has no palm rejection, as far as I know. I don't find that a huge issue - I'm still able to create some nice illustrations with infinite painter.

Hi Damir Franc, first of all, I want to say that I love your reviews. I like the energy when you express your opinion about a product. This is also the reason why I do not know which tablet to get, because your reviews about the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus and the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 are very positive and from what I have seen both tablets will fulfill my needs. Currently the Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 Plus costs around 285 euro's and the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 costs 200 euro's. According to your standards, which of the devices offers the best price/quality?

Not a bad review but no mention of the fact it only has Android 6.x and no indication from makers that an official V7.x will be released. I also find the notification messages can be in colours that cannot be read e.g. white text on white background and the notification LED / charge indication stays on after you have read the message that triggered it. And as you found out, with no option of a case that protects it all it is very easy to damage in transit.

KidYoda maybe because it's a Lenovo? They don't generally have a good reputation, at least not in the higher end of the market. They are a budget brand that is trying to step up in the market place. It is a shame that it's been over looked because it looks and sounds great.

I just realized that my tablet's screen is so washed out in comparison to yours.. luckily enabling the smart side bar and selecting "game" gives the screen more saturation which makes it ok in my case, still totally worth the money though

One thing I noticed about the Lenovo is the color is a lil off. To me it seems a little yellowish. Like if you compare this and another tablet you may see the difference. It not a deal breaker though.

great review, as always!!! really! just a note, at the performance "chapter" i think it's better to show more chrome's tab open so we can see any refresh (if there are, obviusly) when you switch from one tab to another tab. that's all ;) a question, i don' t understand if with the setting is possible improve the battery drain? for me the stand by battery life is important because one day i use tablet intensely but i can leave it for 2 days and then take it back, do you know what i mean? last thing, you have also tested Asus Zenpad 3S 10 (Z500m), which would you buy? I had the 8 inch tab 2. It was a wonderful tablet. There was just one design flaw. it had a full glass front with no bezel. This was way too easy to break. A small drop when I first got it cracked the screen. I got a replacement and was very careful for a long time. But eventually the new one's screen cracked also. However, while I had it I loved it. It's the perfect media consumption tablet​. And the tremendous battery life was so great. Has the new one changed... Is there a now a bezel? Did they switch to a more durable glass (ie Gorilla Glass)? I'm currently considering jumping in again and getting either this or the Android Yoga Book. but I'm waiting to see if they make a new version of the Yoga Book with USB-c and the new Andromeda O/S.

Im really enjoying this tablet, the sound is great but I wouldn't go to 7.1 as the Dolby atmos does not seem optimised for 7.1 .

I really like your reviews, they are very helpful. However, now I am not sure if I think this tab or the asus zenpad3s 10 is the right one for me. Well I guess everyone is different. I have tried many in ear headphones over the years, and none of them fit. They all pop out. The airpods actually fit to the contour of my ears very well. I got the Zenpad 3S for 270 bucks on amazon the other day and it's a very good iPad imposter. In terms of raw specs the Zenpad simply slaughters everything else in that price range, but in practice I saw rather disappointing graphics performance. It was buttery smooth when running Asphalt 8 and RR3 (two very popular racing titles) as well as web browsing and video watching but I launched CSR 2 and WHOA- the graphics were simply TERRIBLE. If you're not caring about gaming performance and just want entertainment (as this tablet is made for) then go for this one.

hi sam, check aliexpress.com , there are so many cheap bluetooth controllers that work great with android devices. Though you do need to check in the play store if the games you want to play have controller support ;)

I wanted to like Lenovo as a tablet option, but given user reviews, I couldn't. When I wanted an affordable Android tablet for testing purposes, I got the Galaxy Tab A 10.1 with S Pen (for the 3GB RAM, not the pen!). I use Lenovo for my laptop needs.

Hey, Damir, I ended up getting an ipad pro 9.7 because I wanted the really nice screen, but after using it for a couple days I think it is not worth the price. So I'm choosing between this tablet and the zenpad 3s 10 now. Do you think this one is good for extended use in portrait mode? It seems a little heavy, although that cylinder on the side would definitely make holding it easier. Holding the ipad with just my left hand got pretty tiring for my wrist after a while. Not sure whether it's better to go for the lighter zepnad or to get this one for the ergonomics. I mostly use my tablet to browse the web on the couch, so portrait is the main mode... The resolution on this one is a nice perk, for sure.

Do all the reviews fail to mention that the memory sd cards can only be formatted in fat format which will not allow any file larger than 4 gigabytes on purpose ? This makes the tablet pretty much useless for copying and playing HD movies !!

Damir Franc, i thank you for your great reviews and comparisons! I'm actually thinking about buying the yoga tab 3 pro, not the plus. It has a projector build in the stand which looks amazing and sounds amazing. But the thing is, in every store where they sell it, there is so much light, so there is no way to test the projector. Also i did multiple surches on google and youtube, but there is no decent review about the projector. I would like to use it in the bedroom to watch some netflix and some anime series. This means i would project up to the ceiling about 2 meters higher. My question to you is: Can you pleeeaaassee review the yoga tab 3 pro too?? and especially give a clear opinion on the projector. I just don't want to spend 500 euros on it if the projector is not usable... thanks in advance and keep up the good work!! Greetings from belgium ;)

Hey, there, I ended up buying the Galaxy Tab A10.1. I read a lot of reviews and once I was at the store and I actually held them and compared them live, I liked the display of the Galaxy more. I think both are great and this Lenovo could also be a good option. It just a matter of personal preference.

But as I'm not using for stored music or movies I reckon that 64gb is pretty much more than enough. I live in London and there is some of them they say there's no OTA, does that mean that I won't be able never to do updates? Or install Google play? I'm not really looking into the LTE, but it comes as standard. Again, thank you so much. The reviews that I can find, are very very recent and not much detailed, though gives the most important hints about the device. Cheers.

I still think that Samsung tab A 2016 has no real contender with its price and good performance, I have an LTE model with a sim card in use and I still can get 11 to 12 hours screen on time with heavy use

Great review. I was waiting for you to talk about the projector, but then near the end of the video I figured out that this is not the same as the "Yoga Tab 3 Pro" which is the one with the projector. I find the naming scheme of these devices particularly confusing. I nearly bought the "Yoga Tab 3" in when I saw it for $300 Canadian, but then realized that it has far lower specs (half the resolution) than either the Tab 3 Plus or Tab 3 Pro. With the original version being so unspectacular, it makes me wonder why they didn't name the higher-res models the Yoga Tab 4 and Yoga Tab 4 Projector, then everything would be clear.

I am really interested and pulled by this tablet and on the verge of buying it! However, during my research I just found out that it does not support exFAT formated micro SD cards therefore you can only read files up to 4GB from the card. Which seems to kind of defeat the purpose of being a full-on media device with an outsanding display and speakers. Is there any way around this or have you found that this is not a problem at all. Also has anyone experieced the sound and video playing out of sync? Help me out guys cause I really want to get this one but im getting cold feet . Dont want to regret it afterwards by feeling that I can´t really experience the full potencial of the specs. thank you!

Francisco Miguel da Costa i don't k now about micro sd card. I have samsung 128gb and works fine. Also, regarding audio sync issue that has been patched already while back ago. So no issue with audio. Speaker is crazy loud. Loudest on any tablet. The battery last forever. I mean forever! I left that tablet on stand by for over a month and it still didn't die. On regular usage (few hrs of video everyday) will last 5 days to week. Only thing I don't like about it is that it is a heavy heavy tablet. Not for prolonged usage by holding in your hand.

because tablet manufacturers don't care about the camera's either... everybody uses their phone camera's in daily life. If making video presentations is your thing i suggest you don't use a smartphone or tablet camera. You should think about investing in a decent camera and just edit and upload your video's on a PC or tablet is you prefer...
