Indians in the US or UK or any other country aren't Indian citizens nor are they obligated nor expected to know everything about India. And also Indians on the internet have the tendency to think the world revolves around them and that they're a growing world power and everybody should acknowledge us etc, but to be honest, nobody gives a fuck, except for few who genuinely care.

My friend had a similar story : This was like 10 th std it was normal physics test result he failed in one mark he used to fail in almost all exams. He really want to pass and he asked for grace marks crying begging for that one mark in front of the whole class and physics proffesor gave a life changing advice " if u are satisfied with me passing u with that one mark I'll really do it right now for your satisfaction but remember one thing if u study harder and pass on UR own next time I'll give u a gift ( very costly pen very rare ) no student has ever gotten". My friend said " I don't want to barely pass anymore I want reach rank 1 in physics" with tears in eyes. That really motivated he studied very hard and got 100/100 marks next physics exam. He went from failing in all exams to distinction in every subject. That physics professor changed his life and he was really helped him study for that exam. A good teacher can turn ur life around he was my favorite physics with a lot of passion.

Lol you guys can criticise modi as well navi. I stay in India and have been doing it for years. Its bad but not as bad as you Americans think. Its not like Syria or Afghanistan. Also, I think the Indian origin Americans pass more stereotypical comments about Indians than the non indians. Most of thr pre-conceived idea about India that Navi seems to have are just North Indian cultural stereotypes and she uses that to generalise the whole of India. All Indian parents aren't conservatives navi maybe yours are. Even in past videos on Indian movies I have made a general observation. All of us dont have arranged marriages nor all of us follow the caste system. Its not as mainstream as Americans make it to be. It still exists in some parts of India but not everywhere. Just like the US we have a diverse population with people on all political spectrum. There are liberals as well as conservatives. Just find it so patronizing Btw all Indian movies are not 3 hours or 2 hour 30 mins. There are quite a number of 90 mins movies as well Kissing and love making scenes do take place on screen, have been since early 2000s. The idea that Navi has about" Bollywood" movies people dont kiss is very 20th century Indian cinema. Her ideas about India are very 1990s

Its actually just general awareness of overall technology in the Science portion of the exam. They are not teaching somebody to be a physicist or rocket engineer etc and neither are the questions to that level of technicality. Its just basic general knowledge of ..lets say how does rocketry work, the propulsion systems, the rocket fuels, the escape velocity from earth and some orbital mechanics... etc etc which is super basic knowledge that anyone can learn by themselves if you are curious about space and space technology. You can literally learn most of the stuff by just watching a NASA launch coverage on KZbin for free. The exam is geared towards your "administrative" and civil responsibilities to basically run the daily operations of a country. Most of the questions are only pertinent from India's POV and its civil services. Anyone who has a curious mind and does a lot of reading of daily news from multiple sources, keeps a tab on the working of the country and the world and current affairs, understands the ground issues of India and has had a good educational background from grade 1 to 12, especially in an English Medium school can easily crack UPSC. Its a super easy Exam, but coz of lack of good teachers, resources, schools, kids find this exam to be tough, especially for Hindi Medium students and students from Gov run schools.

If u want to get selected on merit go to USA and if u want birth privilage of being born into a lower caste then come to india (neet is a medical selection examination) so u will get 2 students with 720/720 and 308/720 in same med college thats the power of reservation😂😂

The exam's name is UPSE and it is conducted for the civil services around 700 to 900 vacancies come every year and almost around 10 lakh forms are filled out of that only 900 are selected for UPSC. Out of these 900 some posted in IAS indaian administrator service,IPS indian police services and some in IFS Indian foreign service and some in IES Indian economics services etc.

A minor thing: Becoming an IPS officer isn't just becoming a police officer...They literally control the whole police department in their region...and they are not selected for normal police duty rather they act as somewhat as the part of the adminstration behind the police force... and yeah, UPSC is hard as f*ck to crack, lots of students are weeded out, because only the most knowledgeable minds in the country about polity, economy, who has almost complete knowledge about basic maths, english, science and general knowledge can be selected in these posts...and yeah, in these exams your real life problem solving skills regarding socio-political and economic issues, your opinions about various problems and occurrences in India - all are tested...SO, THIS IS ONE TOUGH EXAM, and definitely one of the top 3 toughest exams in India...

Why were they teaching about rocket? Because IPS/IAS and 20+ services have one common exam called UPSC test India could be launching a new mission to space India could be achieving that in much lesser budget, then more countries want to use our satellites to launch their services It’s a business profitable to Indian space industry Having a basic idea about how everything works Can help you be part of a delegate team if you are visiting other countries as a officer along with scientists because we don’t send only scientists on national duty we send team which has other officers Hope that makes some sense

The reason why they study so much vast syllabus because 'UPSC' held this general exam named 'civil service exam(CSE)' for recruiting on many post in civil services, so u can apply for all these post as your choice and get them on your ranking basis in exam. Mainly there are four areas where u can work- 1. Indian administration service (District magistrate) this is where u administer a whole district or a big city. 2. India police service 3. Indian foreign service 4. Indian revenue service Particularly for a IAS he/she can work in many departments and ministries as secretary or joint secretary on deputation so one needs to have the surface level and basic knowledge of many different fields, the kind of knowledge one needs to have is more horizontally vast rather than vertically deep about any particular field like for a example one just need to know some basic knowledge of economics principle but more about economy, just a little about finance to give u an idea.

UPSC(India) is the third toughest exam in the world after 1st GAOKAO(China) and 2nd IIT JEE(India). You don't need to know rocket science but yes almost everything about basic science. IPS is not just any regular position in the police.
