Shigaraki's speech bubbles were always shaky in the manga. But after he found his confidence and remembered things, the bubbles became normal. Both the dub and sub represented his different way of speaking greatly. Shigaraki destroyed a city with one blow and now has an army on his side. Truly built different.

The idea of civilians and society as a whole ignoring "minor" acts of crime and looking the other way was teased as early as season 2 when Deku is training with Gran Torino. When hes wall jumping in the alley and he falls in the trash, theres a couple that see him and the woman says "omg we should call someone" or something along those lines, her boyfriend then frantically pulls her away says "no lets not get involved Im sure a hero will handle it" or something like that. So its crazy how how a situation like that is exactly why Shigaraki turned evil.

The hero society really 'unknowledging' promotes bystander syndrome & placing all problems with society on the heroes to allow citizens to take it easy, no matter the issue. It's a negative side-effect that's really interesting.

Shigaraki has come along way since season one. He went from being a spoiled wannabe villain Mann child into a full fledged leader of his own evil organization. This is what I love about my hero academia, it gives even the antagonist time to grow stronger and developed. Also, Re-destro looks like a buff anime version of dr doofenshmirtz from Phineas and ferb.

People are usually confused by Deku's line at the beginning of the story. He never said "this is the story of how I became the number one hero", what he said was "this is the story of how I became the greatest hero"

The "greatest hero" could not be number one, for instance, if he wasn't recognize as such by the public, while still being objectively the best hero. But I do want him to become "number one" in addition to becoming the greatest hero. Or maybe, hero rankings will disappear?

19:44 what's funny is the rehabilitation of Eri is basically the small step of what society should have done to people who were neglected and abused. Eri could have become a villain but the same way how Miro and Deku have helped her, someone could have been there for Tenko. His quirk is as dangerous as many quirks of the hero society like endevour's, yet he signed up as a hero same with ashido with her quirk acid or the kid from class B with the quirk shadow, heck Tokoyami could have been a villain. If we want to look outside of it, granted she wears gloves and she did start off as a villain, but she turned to the x men. Going to Heroes (tv series season 1) Ted was never a villain but had radioactive powers making his wife sick and could nuke a city, he never wanted to hurt anyone. The simple point is just because they have a destructive quirk doesn't mean that their path was set out for evil

The thing about Shigaraki's fingers are that in Japan there this a stigma against limb/finger damage. So in anime and manga when people have missing fingers or limbs the anime will either not do it, or have prosthetics. Like in dragonball with Cell or Buu. It's rather interesting.

Shigaraki used to wear *14* hands on his body. 1 from dad on his face (he had 2 but he destroyed 1 in this flashback), 2 from mom on neck, 2 from grandpa on arms, 2 from grandma on arms, 2 from sister on wrists, 4 from the 2 street thugs on his torso, and 1 hand from AFO who the owner is unknown for that was worn on his head. That unknown owner hand is the one he has left from the fight with Redestro (manga readers plz don't spoil in comment. lol).

This all shows there's no perfect solution to their problems. MHA's Hero Society is very flawed and creates a lot of their own problems. Even their own villains in cases like quirk discrimination (Toga, Spinner, etc.) or taking the presence of heroes sooo for granted that they ignore a lost child while saying, "A hero will come eventually. It isn't my problem." And even some problems in said society you don't even know about yet...but they're bad. That second one was the flaw in the All Might method. It made them dependent on heroes to an unhealthy extent where you had victims slipping through the cracks and becoming resentful. Bad outcomes and at least some of those who became villains could have been avoided and led better lives if those problems were either addressed or were a non-factor. Paranormal Liberation Front is an awesome organization name BTW. LOL I was surprised none of you mentioned his voice change, though. It's still Eric Vale, but it's quite a distinction between his restrained voice and his "liberated" voice. And that is the intention even from the manga to show the change in the way Shigaraki's voice sounds post-powerup.

Something really cool with the soundtrack that plays during the declaration of the Paranormal Liberation Front is that it's a rearrangement of the original villian theme. Look up MHA villain theme, then compare it to the Paranormal Liberation Front OST. Beautiful work of art

For the power what the doctor is offering, the second movie where gives a sneak peak from that villain. In the manga the villain nine appeared and was one the doctors test subjects. Remember the villains were transporting him which takes place after this episode. Shigiraki from the movie had the same hand injury. You can connect the dots if you really think about it.

Re-destro can cut off his own legs off screen cause you don't see it and its himself doing it, but showing him do it to someone else like that is a no go. Shigaraki's fingers don't break. They get ripped off. Half his hand is missing in the manga. Thumb, index and middle finger and a good portion of his hand is just gone. Permanently. Seriously, read the manga for this ark. So much was removed. As awesome as this was, they really didn't do this ark justice. They made it good, when it should have been amazing.

there are such incredible & mournful parallels between episode 1/2 (Izuku Midoriya: Origin) of MHA & these 2 episodes (Tenko Shimura: Origin & Tomura Shigaraki: Origin). down to the language that older versions of both characters use in reflection on their origins: "No, that's not it."; "The words i wanted you to say were..."/"The word i wanted you to say was..." IT"S SO SAD. but! remember when Deku rushed in to save Kacchan, even though all of those bystanders & heroes stood by idly, he said it was because "you looked like you were asking for help". that's why Deku will be the one to save Tenko! he'll be the only one to recognize the small child in him asking for help. this is, after all, the story of how he became the greatest hero! i don't think that can be true without him saving Tenko.

This entire arc was about the villains getting to have their own protagonists journey, because everybody is their own main character, so why should only the main cast get to develop.

Shigaraki's portion of story is definitely the highlight of this otherwise very disappointing season. I just wish they hadn't cut out so much stuff from the manga during this Villains arc. They made Re Destro look like just a random dude lol, not to mention how dirty the anime did Spinner. Maybe you guys can come back and read this portion of the story in the manga on your own, because the manga version is way more juicy. It would be worthwhile.

As much as shigiraki is the product of all for one, he is also the the product of the society in which having heroes creates and hence why the liberation army was formed. 80% of society has quirks but all those adults did not help a helpless child with blood because they believed a hero would do it..that is fucked and also even if you have the power to help you can’t because you’re not a licences hero.

A good contrast is Toga v Shigaraki. Toga has an intense obsession with violence, specifically blood, and will hurt and kill people to get close to them. Shigaraki was shown explicitly to be non-violent and kind as a kid, even having kids call him All Might since they were outcasts practically and he invited them to play. Yet, he grew up to be violent because of the intense abuse and neglect by his father and other family. Still, he only had actual pleasure in causing harm when it came to his father because he was the source of that abuse and neglect. Toga on the other hand seemed to have kind and present parents but she just had an innate obsession with blood, probably not helped by the fact of her quirk. Shigaraki is a product of his environment, Toga is a product of her nature.

From my limited understanding, the equivalent of the fcc in japan is behind the censorship rules and the animation studios have to work around them. Also, these anime usually air around the afternoon after school ends which adds to why there is censorship
