Don´t know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but the word for "locker" and "closet" is the same in norwegian, so his trouble with his locker is tied in with the trouble he is experiencing with his coming out :)

Isak’s conversation with Sana is about him trying to understand how people (his mum) can believe in religions that condemn people like him. He comes across as being somewhat bigoted, but it’s from a place of fear, particularly about his mum’s reaction to him being gay

The underwater kiss. ❤️ I've watched Romeo + Juliet so many times so that Isak + Even pool scene was so enjoyable to me. The parallels in how they move in the pool with each other, the color of their clothing, etc with R+J. Julie Andem and the rest of the production were so detailed. The pre-party scene towards the end of the last episode with Isak + Even looking at each other being a parallel to the fish tank scene in R+J was done so well too.

BTW 21:21 is a special time specifically for Isak, he was born at that time and it keeps coming up throughout this season. Also an interesting thing, I'm not sure if it has anything to do with why it is that time, but in the bible Proverbs 21:21 is "Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor." Isak is a 99' kid, Even is a 97, so that means he is 2 years older.

The way they handled the Noora and William saga after season 2 is sooo dumb I can't even. And I'm saying that as someone who has never liked them as a couple. I mean come on, it was all set up perfectly from season 2- Noora was going to move in with William and William had graduated. I.e. No reason for us to see William either in school or in the kollektiv. They didn't need to invent this whole break up just because Thomas left the show! They could have kept Noora in school so we saw her there, we could have seen Eskild going all "i'm going ot hang at Noora's and William's place tonight- bye". That would have satisfied everyone- we know why we can't see William but the show would have dropped hints that it's all good between them. THIS storyline makes all of season 2 for nothing, and it's totally ridicilous that Noora would just leave high school? William could have waited a year in Oslo for her. Jesus
@Daydreamingunderlampposts5 жыл бұрын
I agree that Noora just up and leaving school is... strange. But I think you're overlooking that William NOT leaving would affect many aspects of how season 3 and even 4 plays out. LIKE Isak moving in and giving him a less contrived reason to get closer to and have conversations with Eskild (if she was planning on moving in with HIM, then the conversation isak heard her have in the hallway relating to his situation), the conflicts with the kosegrouppa parties, and even Noora's impact in season 4! Not to mention it's a way that Noora can still be in the show and no one is saying "Well if William is still around how come we never see him at all??" PLOT HOLE DING!! UNSATISFYING STORYTELLING!! Plus, personal opinion, I don't think this makes season 2 pointless, but more like it adds to the story in a really interesting way and, by the end, makes their relationship even stronger and with an even more satisfying resolution.
@elisabet11385 жыл бұрын
@@Daydreamingunderlampposts But Isak would have moved in anyway since Noora was moving out to live with William. No one would have screamed about plot holes because we know Thomas left the show. Unsatisfying storytelling is breaking them up right after we watched a whole season of them getting together. The things happening in season 4 with Noora did not have to happen because we alreayd had a whole season about her. They only included it because they started this weird story of her leaving William without a word, and they had to finish it in Sana's season. It would have been a lot more satisfying to just have said it was all fine.

I personally hate religion, but I always try to be respectful towards people of faith. I may challenge their beliefs but I avoid judging them for believing in a religion. It is what I teach my children too. I have never told them they should not believe in God, but I have told them that I personally don't do it and that you should figure out for yourself what to believe. My perspective is that atheism based on an authority telling you to not believe does not believe. It never worked in the USSR. Religion came back strong, because their atheism was built on flimsy foundation. It was based on fear and intimidation rather than letting people reach logical conclusions themselves through asking questions and having an open mind. My kids play with muslim kids and I have always told them that there is nothing wrong with them believing in Allah. I said in Norway you can believe in anything you want or nothing if you want to. Ironically my son's best buddy muslim friend got all exctactic when I said you could believe in whatever you wanted in Norway. I only said it to make clear I respected whatever people believed. What I had not realized was that this kid believed being muslim was a condition he was born with. He did not think it was a choice. I guess his parents had kept telling him, that he had to eat halal because he was a muslim kid. He probably had not understood that that was a choice his parents had made for him. He seemed to think it was almost the same as being a particular gender or having a medical condition. Like if you have diabetes you cannot eat sugar, likewise if you are muslim you cannot eat non-halal food.

Theory in science and theory in layman world are literally night and day, sis. To have a theory in science, you need a mountain of vetted, verified evidence, pass scrutiny from qualified professionals(peer review if you will) and demonstrate in and out of writing, how the hell you're right. What you're talking about is a hypothesis, not a theory in science. Religion isn't a theory, it's a hypothesis at best(which is what laymen mean when they say they have a theory.)

I think somewhere later in this season (or next? I forgot) sana told isak that the thing that she said about homosexuality-evolution is wrong and she apologized I think this just shows how sana evolves as a character, in her study and her belief (she question Islam positioning of homosexuality, understand people better, etc)

Old video but still, evolution is a fact: accumulative changes in allele frequencies result in off-spring no longer being able to successfully procreate with their parent species. I.e. speciation. The theory of evolution is the scientific theory that best explains the process whilst also being supported by the available evidence. That's the difference between the layman usage of 'theory', as in a guess or assumption and a scientific theory, which is an explanation that accounts for a natural phenomenon, based on evidence and having passed rigorous peer-review.
