10:49 was actually very clever story-telling. Khonshu is someone who punishes people after they have committed a crime. Whereas Ammitt is someone who punished people before they committ that crime. Harrow was merely *planning* on reviving Ammitt, he hadn't actually done the deed yet. Hence, by justice of Khonshu himself, he can't be punished. *Even if* they have evidence of intent, Harrow can't be punished according to Khonshu's own meaning of justice. I assume the fact that personalities are a creation (or at least how they operate in society) so it can be strange for to see in a legitimate way to those who don’t experience DID. Imaginary is the wrong term though. The confusion may come from the fact that alternative personalities are often created by a main personality subconsciously as a way to handle certain memories and feelings. So that is probably why they used the phrase in comparison to the original personality of the body. The brain can find multiple ways to process various signals and creating a personality is merely one way.

DID infodump for anyone curious but not enough to have already hopped on google and researched. I am not a system nor a medical professional specializing in DID, so consider me a secondary source. I am relaying what I have heard and read from general research, systems talking about the disorder & their experience on the internet, and plural friends. DID, or Dissociative Identity Disorder is what the MK system has. “Multiple Personality Disorder” is outdated by decades and it’s pretty frustrating that the term hasn’t been phased out yet (ye, i noticed the normies have started saying DID i see you!). OSDD is a similar disorder you may come across when looking into DID since people with OSDD are also plural. “Personalities” is often disliked by systems (at least recently, I only started looking into DID less than a decade ago) because it trivializes that alters/headmates are separate people rather than simple states. I can be playful/childish, I can be laid-back, I can be serious, but I’m still a singlet (person with one identity a.k.a most of the population) Those are states of being. Those are personalities. Plural people are made up of multiple identities- not just personalities but memories, body language, skills, inner perception of physical appearance, speaking mannerisms. I think a lot of people (self-included) are just trying to help spread correct/preferred terminology. I’m sure it comes across as info dumping and a bit preachy, but there is a lot of misinformation out there about DID. Obviously the average person isn’t automatically going to know what words to use for something they’re not especially familiar with. But I highly recommend looking more into plurality! Moon Knight (the show specifically) is so far, if not the best then one of the best representations of the disorder. At the very least it’s one of the few not about an evil serial killer. I think the only other one I’ve seen praised by systems was Red vs Blue, and uh, the sci-fi somewhat metaphorical representation was good, but the actual human character with it? Not a great introduction. Could’ve left out the shock therapy jokes and the world would have been better for it. The bar for good representation is sadly just really low tbh. But because of Moon Knight there is more attention on the disorder and new people are learning about it, which is pretty cool!

And telling a date would have been a hell from the writer because we are the one making dates. For a God, what is the date ? they are omnipotent and don't base their entire view on Earth (even more since other planets are habitated in the MCU). We are making dates based on the orbit of the planet around the Sun, some calendars are doing about the orbit of the moon (arabic calendar) and some are combining both (chinese calendar). What would a god choose ? For them, a hundred years is nothing. They just *exist*. And using a date on an ancient egyptian calendar would have needed research and some research in the show (except if Steven would have known it).

I like that during the Infinity War saga Earth suffered 1 1/2 alien invasions, yet already in Phase 4 they've seen a celestial appear in their sky and the stars go on a merry-go-round. People must be traumatized, they need to go into the religious implications of Christians seeing God appear in the sky

Not to mention a bunch of cracks in the sky during No Way Home. Sam sure picked a bad time to become the new Captain America lol.

Jake his other alter is a Taxi driver from New York, so he has an New York accent and it shows up in this episode . When Mark is talking to Layla the accent changes when they are talking when she has that drink in her hand when she's talking about people from Cairo don't like her name. Just listen to hear the New York accent.

I don't know about anyone else, but I really like how they're not dropping MCU references in this show ... like at all. No "Hey, we're in the same universe as The Avengers! Wink! Wink!" type of moments. Apart from the Marvel Studios intro with every episode, it really just feels like its own thing. I do feel like there's going to be something eventually, like maybe something in a mid-credit or post-credit scene or even both when we get to the final episode, but I feel like it's not going to be anything as obvious as Samuel L. Jackson showing up to talk to Marc/Steven about the Avengers initiative, but something.

Essentially, MoonKnight is their superhero name. Konshu is the god that they work for, you could say that their body works for, or their system in DID lingo. They became Konshu's avatar at some point, Marc made the deal with him, and therefore he is able to possess a suit with enhanced abilities to do the deeds of Konshu, do his dirty work. And then there are two known personalities (or alters is the more modern correct term), Marc Spector the military man, and Steven Grant the Egyptian god enthusiast who works (worked) at a museum gift shop.

Please don't just assume that because someone has dissociative identity disorder they HAVE TO have an "evil" personality (which btw is the wrong term you should call it alters), that's incredibly damaging to the very real people that have to deal with this everyday and couldn't be far from the truth. DID systems form because of trauma, they're usually trying to survive and run from the monsters, they're not the monsters. Also the eclipse and the light show with the stars was just that, a show. Why would Khonshu cause a cataclysmic event if all he needed was to manipulate light in a way he could made a projection of what he wanted to see. Have you been to a planetarium? if not, google it. it's basically the same concept.

In the comics khonshu was the most powerful Egyptian god because he was originally an elder god way older and more powerful than Ra the king of the Egyptian gods and even more powerful than Odin an Zeus before he joined the Egyptian pantheon. In the comics it was revealed he was not only the god of vengeance and the moon but he was also the god of time before he joined the Egyptian pantheon giving him absolute control over time. They nerfed him in the show to make the show more interesting since in the comics the other Egyptian gods don't mess with him because of their fear towards him so they had to nerf him in the show so the other gods could be a threat to him for a proper drawn out plot. The only Egyptian god who had the guts to battle him in the comics was Ra, the king of the Egyptian gods and the sun god. He fought khonshu thousands of times over a millenia and lost every single time. Also that was indeed a tease for a third personality. The third personality is called Jake lockley in the comics.
@lazywonderer46692 жыл бұрын
I don't read comics but I wouldn't say they nerfed him that much or at least not in a bad way considering in this episode he controlled the moon and blocked the sun with it to make an eclipse without effort as well as reversing time for 2000 years, and the way everyone saw it happening seemed to imply that he actually moved the stars themselves. So to me he seemed pretty OP. He is only limitation is that he needs an avatar to interact in the mortal plane, personnaly I think it's a good way they adapted him to live screen, not as overpowered as you mentioned but still strong enough in a universal scale.
@calebstephan20832 жыл бұрын
@@lazywonderer4669 he is still powerful in the show without a doubt but that doesn't change the fact that he was still nerfed. In the comics all the other gods don't interfere with anything khonshu does because of how powerful he is whereas in the show the other gods aren't in the least scared of him and were even able to restrain. The only god that has the guts to pick a fight with khonshu was Ra but eventhough Ra picks fight with him he still loses everytime but I don't mind them nerfing khonshu in the show since now the Egyptian gods pose a threat to him whereas in the comics they weren't even close to his power to be called threats.

I feel like the avatars of the gods not doing anything to Harrow goes back to the thought Steven brought up in the second episode, that a thought cannot be an offense and technically Harrow didn't really commit any offense like the gods said. They are digging the tomb but technically they didn't release Ammit
@VADallasCowboysFan2 жыл бұрын
I get it, but what's the point if Ammit is back and destroys the population kinda late to do something then
@moazahmed37372 жыл бұрын
@@VADallasCowboysFan I don't know lol but I guess it can show that Ammit's ideal of punishing for future evil is better than Khonshu's ideal of punishing after the deed is done
@Wright8052 жыл бұрын
Conspiracy to commit a crime is itself a crime. For example, if you're planning to murder someone and you get rumbled then you're getting arrested, tried and convicted. Harrow hasn't just "thought" about freeing Ammit, he's in the process of doing so. That is conspiracy to commit and so is an offence.

The actor that played Anton passed away earlier this year, so I doubt he'll be back. (Unless he comes back in a later episode this season and is definitively written off then. Otherwise, I think they'll just go with the implication that the character died here.)

I think that's why we don't see Gaspard's body fall off the horse and just ride off into the fog (that wasn't there before), to pay some respect to his last role. Also, the coordinates 29 degrees North, 25 degrees East is basically on the border between Egypt and Libia, not that close to Cairo at all.
