Not sure how much research into DID they did but Steven is a Fictive Alter, Marc is a Protector Alter and Jake is a Persecutor Alter. Fictives adapt or fully assume the identity of a work of fiction that somebody in the system enjoys. These alters serve a rehabilitation purpose because they provide a connection to the rest of humanity. Protectors form to shield the host from trauma so they usually emerge first. Persecutors are sometimes referred to as Misguided Protectors because they usually have a distorted view of right and wrong and antisocial tendencies but they form to shield the host from trauma. Basically Marvel either researched DID thoroughly or unintentionally nailed it.
@brutifullroast254810 ай бұрын
Just research the comics they explain it all. Jake loves killing. He is the rageful personality and he is also a driver. Ep1 when there driving backwards that was jake and all the killing scenes they didn't show was obviously jake. When Marc and Steven can't do the job Jake takes over as a last resort. Jake is there protector, created from the trauma of his mother. He is a psychopath literally
@SinSinny8 ай бұрын
All these theories would be cool except Marc doesn’t know about Jake at all and neither does Steven. I think Steven unknowingly created Jake to handle his mother’s abuse or Jake manifested himself. It shows their mother coming in to abuse Marc but Marc was Steven at that moment yet Steven has no memory of his mother being abusive, that’s when I think Jake stepped in and would explain why he’s so violent.

Moon Knight 1x5: This episode was absolutely incredible. The Black Panther reference was a delightful addition that I thoroughly enjoyed. Furthermore, incorporating psychological horror into the series was a brilliant touch. I couldn't help but feel the urge to give Marc Spector a comforting hug while watching this episode. Additionally, the interaction between Marc and Steven with Taweret was genuinely captivating. Taweret's performance in this episode was outstanding. On the other hand, Marc's mom portrayed a cold-hearted snake character flawlessly. Lastly, Steven's humorous comparison of Arthur Harrow to Ned Flanders had me laughing out loud. The visuals in this series are truly top-notch, and the casting of Oscar Issac as Moon Knight was absolutely perfect.

@@markrogers6601 I've been a Moon Knight and Black Panther fan since 1993 and 1995, respectively. Did you miss my comment regarding 1x6 for Moon Knight? Jeremy Slater and Mohamed Diab, the show's creators, have expressed their admiration for Moench and Sienkiewicz's "Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu" run from 1985 to 1987. This run stood out for its profound examination of Moon Knight's psychological well-being, innovative approach to first-person narration, and unconventional storytelling methods. The series also incorporates elements from different Moon Knight comic book series, like Jeff Lemire's "Moon Knight" (2016-2017) and Warren Ellis' "Moon Knight" (2014-2015). These storylines were highly acclaimed for delving into the character's ethical dilemmas and his constant battle to juggle his crime-fighting endeavors with his personal life. Khonshu is also the half-brother to Bast and Sekhmet. My comment about Mr. Knight during the 1x2 episode of Moon Knight hasn't happened to be there.

this is something i learned from a psychologist channel reacting to this series: the point of this show (especially when Marc chose Steven over 'eternal peace') is to show that although Marc is the original host of the body (born as Marc), Steven and Jake are also him. All of them are real. Marc separated his naivety and innocence from being further tainted by the abuse, and so Steven was formed ignorant of all the abuse and hostility from his mother. And this is a popular theory about Jake; he is the 'protector' personality who protects both Marc and Steven from the abuse AND remorse of murder. Marc couldn't handle all the guilt of killing, so Jake does the rest. Jake's character has been hinted from early on. - Steven doesn't remember his date, and Marc has a wife that he genuinely loves. The only explanation is that Jake is the womanizer who asked the lady out. - Every time Marc/Steven stand in front of a mirror, there's always 3 reflections. - Jake pops up whenever Marc/Steven mess up; the rooftop scene and in the finale battle. - Episode 5; Marc found Steven from a sarcophagus. Later they found a 2nd sarcophagus but refused to open it. That was Jake. - Marc mentioned about being in military, but was discharged for going MIA too many times (hinting that another personality popped up while he was deployed). Steven had no recollection of being in military, so that must be Jake. - this is a theory, but some fans claim that Jake has popped up in the scene with Harrow in episode 5. most of us think that was Marc, but some said that he has a different accent. like a non-native English speaker.

I'm still shocked that Oscar Isaacs did not get an award for this show. He got one the same year for something else, but this is easily one of his best performances, the way he can switch between the characters in a single shot. You can tell which one he is by his facial expressions alone. Even Jake Lockley you can tell on rewatch; he's the personality who attacked Dr. Harrow and he showed up briefly when saying "While it is tempting to accept your diagnosis Doc" (The give away is the thick New York accent) I have had my issues with phase 4 of Marvel, but man I cannot say enough about this one.

This show was actually my favourite until very recently. I thought the last episode could have been tighter, but wow they managed to tie together most of eight volumes of Moon Knight into one very good origin story. They did an honest and respectful representation of D.I.D. & blended into with one of Marvels most complicated origins. Oscar was perfect, the twist at the end great. The MCU though, that is it's own complicated story. First off not every show is for every one, fair enough. Second not every show is the same quality, I think that is true of most franchises, different scripts, different actors, different target audience, different story, I think with Marvel this jumps around a lot more too, much like the comics, some comics were truly epic, some I couldn't bring myself to read lol/ugh. Third not every show can be Infinity War or End game. In fact Marvel made a conscious decision to take the ending of the Infinity Saga to basically start again, introduce many more characters, more styles of story (more comedic, horror etc...) & to basically build up to a new climax as part of a much larger story. After Endgame we are still only in phase 4 so we should be more realistically comparing to phase 1 Marvel. Not every movie or show can be Infinity War or Endgame, but it was the whole that contributed to those movies hitting so hard. Fourth Marvel got caught up in political controversy in the US, this in turn is linked to Marvel being criticised for over representation of minorities & in particular female characters. Personally if it's great writing, great acting, entertaining then I don't care & if the criticism is honest then I think Marvel should 100% listen. For me one movie was so so bad, but the ones I have liked less, and that one it was not so much the characters, the acting, it was the writing/script/direction that has let them down. Love your reactions, if you enjoy them as much as me you will have plenty of fun. Lets all hope phase 6 is as good as phase 3!

Just a warning/tip: as a person with DID, I wanted to make it clear that there is no such thing as a "real" one. The three are real, Jake, Mark and Steven.
@Maratonkata Жыл бұрын
Moon Knight real name is Marc Spector. Basically Mark created Steven to escape from the reality and the things that happened to him as a kid. The series also confirmed five different alters, and also elaborated on how they came to be. In the source material, the vigilante can appear as Marc Spector, Steven Grant, Jake Lockley, Mr. Knight and Moon Knight. My theory is that there is at least one more which is a costume for Jake Lockley. In the comics Jake's costume is with a darker color scheme on his Moon Knight suit. This made him look like a more serious version of the character, adding an extra layer of threat, brutality, and violence to this hero. In the comics this costume is called Ghost Hunter which adding deeper and more willing relationship with Khonshu. - As i said Marc is the real one. - Steven is when he wants to be brave and imagine a world where he is with his mom. - Jake is the personality he switches to when his mom used to beat him. He's ruthless, also loves to wear a fake moustache and speak Spanish.

So quick thing about DID. (Which is what moon knight has) Now none of this is personal experience as I do no have DID myself, but they're all real. A new person in there isn't like making someone it's more like pieces of the original person combined with adaptations from the human brain.

this series is one of the few I've enjoyed from Disney+ other than What If? Oscar Issac is such an incredible actor!

Moon Knight 1x2: The show's latest episode was excellent, and Mr. Knight looked absolutely stunning. My favorite part was the back-and-forth between Steven Grant and Marc Spector, and Khonshu looked fantastic. Arthur Harrow was a great villain, and the visuals were stunning. The twist of Arthur Harrow being a former avatar of Khonshu was excellent, and his cool-blooded roasting of Khonshu was impressive. I'm thoroughly enjoying this show, and the interaction between Steven Grant and Arthur Harrow was a highlight of this episode. Khonshu's lack of chill was also noteworthy, and Layla's fun interaction with Steven Grant was a joy to watch.

When the Doctor and mental things start after steven being shot Things get so fked to understand and that is also the best part that makes this series a very brainy thing

Moon Knight is Marvels better version of Batman. Because of his several personalities he makes the ideal detective, each personality has a different skill and fighting style so he’s a master martial artist, and unlike Batman he’s able to take that final step and kill.

Steven = Good Marc is original = Neutral/Middle Jake = Chaotic/Evil Just a D&D idea! Even if they're more mixed, still really cool with all 3!

People like the new characters The biggest issue with them is that they haven't shown up since they were introduced

I love Moon Knight, he's a Batman with split personalities and each personality has a specialty. in the comics even dracula is afraid of him (because dracula owes him money lol) he's a badass character in the comics no other hero wants to work with perfect mix another great reaction

Moon Knight 1x1: Witnessing Khonshu was both eerie and exhilarating for Steven. This episode was absolutely fantastic. Ever since 1993, I've been a devoted follower of Moon Knight. The visuals showcased in this particular episode were absolutely magnificent. I can't help but feel a mix of Fight Club, Indiana Jones, Ghostbusters, The Mummy, Jacob's Ladder, and Donnie Darko vibes from this incredible show.

so this show was a (not-exactly accurate) portrayal of a condition called "dissociative identity disorder" or DID. all those identities (alters) are real: they have names, ages, personalities, appearances, etc. and live in the "mind palace", but they occupy the same body as the host and front (take over the body) whenever there's a trigger. all of these alters are created by some traumatic event at some point during someone's childhood in order to protect the host in one way or another. marc is the original host; steven is called a "caregiver" who is responsible for marc's mental/emotional wellbeing, which is why he was created when marc was scared shitless after locking himself up in his room; jake lockley is the "protector", their role is to take on all of the emotional and/or physical harm the host body experiences aka abuse, it is heavily speculated that jake was born right as marc's mother started beating him with her belt in their room.

This series is really good! ... the fans spoke angry ,because the character of Layla didn't exist in comics ,and they say (not me ,never read Moonknight comics ,sadly) that she was insert in this ,only for "the agenda" (has to be a empowered woman or didn't exist) ... maybe that's right ,who knows.
