I live in Arizona, and I totally plan on using some of these tips in reverse. The summer is here, our oppressive in their heat and their brightness. I’ve given myself seasonal depression in the past by closing all the blinds and staying inside to avoid the heat all day. The indigenous people of the area called summer the death season.

I'm in Canada and it's not well known, but our summers (especially last few years) are sometimes scalding. Maybe not Arizona level, but we had a 40°C this year. Having chronic illnesses during that type of weather, I've definitely had to shut myself from the outside during the summer. I get most active in Spring or Fall because how much our seasons can get extreme and my body can't handle more than moderate heat or cold. It's wild to me how we're expected to function the same all year round in modern days when nature impose a way different rhythm

I loved this video! I find it interesting you're a little bit opposite of how I like to go out or stay inside. Living in Texas and hating the heat of the summertime I find myself doing most of my research chilling inside by a fan on the beanbag chair, picking up a nice book, or reading some articles to educate myself a little more on different practices I'd like to implement in my craft. Then in the fall/winter months when it's cooling off outside and not too miserable to go foraging I personally find it more enjoyable to explore the woods during those months. But it gets very eree and you can really feel a different atmosphere in the forest during winter time. Doesn't feel nearly as "welcoming" I think? So on those particular days I won't forage just because it doesn't feel like I'm "allowed" to if that makes sense? So I find myself doing way more protection practices than anything. Funny how different those of us do things based on location and climate.

Oh I totally get that! If I lived in Texas I would probably work similarly… or basically anywhere where it gets incredibly hot during summer. Luckily our summers in northern Germany are still bearably warm 🤣

I like to get cosy in the kitchen in the dark months. I live in Tennessee and I can relate to you saying we don't get much snow. We just get cold rains here. So I like to make breads and fall vegetables like squash and roasted meats I resonate with you on slowing down in the dark days. That I think is only natural for this time of year. So enjoy your hot tea or autumn drink and may I wish you all the blessings of autumn.

You are so cool, and this was so helpful to me. I prepare for winter by buying candles and extra light sources as well as cbd oil and a tangerine incense difuser. Also, oranges to make juice and hot yoga help with SAD. 🍂🎃

Yea… love your videos, just subscribed and I do feel that fall and winter is an invitation to stay inside, meditate, learn new things and I really try to reflect. Sometimes we forgot everything we had done, learn and accomplish. The dark months are a good Time To do all that.

We have the same weather here in western Washington state: chilly, wet and dark. I love candles in the winter for light and a sense of warmth. Also love woodsy incense and meditating about a warm, sunny place 😎 Great video!

We have a little bit harder winter here in Finland 😅 usually very chilly&dark, but no snow anymore at every winter here in Helsinki ( southern part of my lovely home land) thanks to climate change. I actually love fall and winter and darkness, probably cause I am a scorpion. Ancestor work, candle spells, meditation, dream work, trance/astral work and lots of research are my winter time activities as a witch.

Where I live we have distinct seasons and the colder months are quite snow-heavy. I live near the polar circle so winter is usually snowy etc. I just have to admit though, that I like the darkness around me this time of the year. I'm not a summer girlie. I'm more comfortable during the autumn and winter seasons. And because my country never gets dark during summer we have midnight sun sometimes even, and the nights are bright regardless, I have difficulty sleeping and getting proper sleep when it's summertime here. So I tend to feel better when Fall says hi :) I know many people where I live hate the cold. But I like it and I like darkness. I'm just weird xD

We have similar weather here in Kentucky, although it does snow in the winter (less and less as climate changes :( ), so there is less nature spirit communication and work for me. I also dedicate more time towards research, planning out future workings, and specifically I dedicate a LOT more time to ancestor work. Even though it’s cold I try to visit and leave graveyard offerings a bit more often, and just sit and talk (many of my personal ancestors are buried in our old historical neighborhood graveyard)

I grew up in Alaska and it he dark was horrible for me. I was so depressed and anxious. Thankfully I live somewhere with more clean seasons and less sun loss. I do love autumn so much, I love honoring and connecting with spirits that I can’t during the rest of the year.

First I take several minutes to contemplate in silence... So first, my garden, its a lot of cactus, yucca, aloe, sage but this year I also grew some plants that are legal in southern California .. People normally just uproot them for the "harvest" that never sat right with me so I "discussed" it with the plants (they seemed all for it, worst they can do is... leave:3) ahem, so finishing their preparations, then I really liked your idea of saying hi to the spirits Im not in close communication with before nap time and in the midst of everything I had some surprise shadow work thats been.... I think cathartic is the word, it's very peculiar to work through trauma you didn't know was hiding in you. Usually this time of year really gets my head all turned around, Im feeling cautiously optimistic so I will cautiously optimize my mysticism, maybe figure out some mysteries, write a spell down, look for my missing pants since it will be a bit too cold for shorts. Thank you as always for your thoughtful insights!
