just picked up my first excel cost me $1000 has a harness seat and a harness bar between the ear struts bit sketchy but its all I could afford, its awesome to watch videos of you making you car should help me make mine good

Definitely forgot chairs before 🤦‍♂️😆 For people who do track days, that also want to do racing as well, I personally highly recommend a torque wrench for the wheel nuts and a little note book to write down notes about car set up, thoughts ect. Also more excel specific: map sensor, crank angle sensor and idle sensor are common must have spares 😉

Yeah for sure i usually have a torque wrench in there as well :) and i have a folder with 'race day sheets' and 'service sheets' which i update when i take the car out and work on it, good to look back on and see what i've done that has made the car better or worse. Good to know about the sensors, i'll have to pick some up at the wreckers :)

dunno man! i mean, it's a 4 pot, twin cam around the same capacity, although i'd hazzard a guess the honda engine would be better engineered :)

Yeah nice! they are called accents in the states as well, the generation after this they changed their name to the accent in Aus :) fun little car for sure!

great video, how much towing capacity do you need to tow the excel?

Hey mate, my trailer is just over 700kg and the excel is 1000kg, add a few other bits like tools etc, my car is rated to tow 2 tonne but you also have to look at you down weight on the tow ball and how well the trailer is balanced :)

Thanks mate, na the cams circuit excel regulations don't allow rear brake change or conversions, so stuck with the drums! not fussed though, rear brakes aren't doing a heap anyway :)

Does the nugget have a louder exhaust? Or a muffler delete?

yeah it's better than stock so i'ts a 2" with a hot dog in the middle and a free flowing muffler on the back, but i'm going to ditch the rear muffler for a straight pipe soon :)
