If the cherry falls sometimes it will burn out, but what i have found out is it doesn't everytime. If you have some water or any liquid that isn't gas or alcohol, just toss a cap full from where the smoke is coming from. I burned a good part of my carpet and didn't even notice it, thankfully it burned out.
