I have a VC overseas in Rose gold blue dial and love it, but it doesn't quite scratch my itch the same as my Rolex GMT Pepsi Meteorite for example... I wish VC had done more with the movement in terms of leading edge tech and something as simple as a hacking movement..

The first generation Overseas definitely carry a lot more of the 222 design language, and more of the tradition of a thin, elegant sports watch in the vein of the Royal Oak or Nautilus at 37mm and 8.5mm thick. I'd love for VC to slim down the current Overseas and offer a true midsize option between the 41mm and the 34.5mm

I'm absolutely over the moon with my 4520v in RG with the blue dial. So many shades of blue! I've stalked it for some time and was finally able to take delivery of my #oneofnotmany overseas last month. Since you brought up bracelets, Vacheron is absolutely at the top in the market. Construction, fit, finish. The quality is like no other IMO. A side note is that the new bracelets are more tapered. I was worried when I ordered if they deviated or if it would change the look too much, etc. However, when it arrived and more importantly when it's on the wrist it's absolutely amazing and they obviously knew what they were doing. I can't seem to take it off.

I always felt that the industrial nature and ethos of the santos with the exposed screws and everything is what led to some inspiration for the royal oak… and most people don’t acknowledge that connection. Cartier was ahead of its time with that. I also agree with the notion that the nautilus made the steel sports watch with an integrated bracelet made it a movement. But I do not think that the nautilus is an improved version. I feel the royal oak is much better as far as design and the nautilus was just trying to perfect or make another version of something similar. But the royal oak still design wise is way better. The overseas is really nice and the fact that the modern ones come with multiple straps like the santos is quite nice.

They are great and the green is awesome and seeing how hard it is to get any important brands watch in a green dial at retail they wont ever be passé. But they are 60k and considering you cant wear a watch in London, NYC, LA and other major metropolitan areas without worrying your going to get your arm cut off the real question is, does it even matter?

You basically hit on the reason they're doing green right now at the end of your video, but more specifically: green pairs very well with gold, as Rolex knows quite well and has repeatedly exploited in the past. Notice how all the green-dial Overseas watches are in solid gold, that's no accident. They're not making these in steel or two-tone ;)

VC is quickly falling behind the curve in the watch game. As Christian said, green dials are EXTREMELY played out by now, and it baffles me that people view VC’s recent releases as “innovative” and “refreshing” when they are, in fact, VERY late to the game. Also, VC not being independent is really hurting their cash flow, because Richemont’s price rises have soured a lot of customers. VC no longer being independent really hurts my view of the brand. I see a lot of enthusiasts and commenters online wax about VC, but the fact that all their models are falling in value drastically (you can virtually get any overseas on the second hand market below retail now) tells me that people aren’t putting their money where their mouth is.

got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on amzwatch 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.

I have a real SUB but I also bought one of these replicas from amzwatch for piece of mind if I go to another country or if I am doing activities that can damage the watch. I don't see anything wrong with that.

But personally, I don't see anything really outstanding in Overseas. Remove the logo and we just get a well-made watch with an average mechanism and a good bracelet. Plus two straps included. Some kind of overfinishing is not in them. And, probably, it is very important for this price category: well, there is no timelessness in them, unfortunately. Take off something wrong, as if there is some "but". They seem to be not quite sporty and not quite elegant not quite balanced, with not quite sophisticated finishes, not quite classic and not quite modern, not quite sparkling and not quite restrained, not quite aggressive and not quite calm, not old money and not new money....
