Often times when I personally face pain or suffering I want to cry out WHY ME!!. Then I think, why not me? am I set above pain and suffering? Of course not. We live in a fallen world not just a fallen humanity but creation itself nature everything the whole gambit. Hurricanes, earthquakes, flood, are all signs of how far nature has fallen because of man from God. My prayers go out to all affected from the hurricane and all who are affected by the fall of creation. God Bless guys you have a great platform and am encouraged and empowered with every video/podcast, thank you.

Thankful to have found your channel recently. Was happy to donate to your Asheville church knowing funds will actually get to people in need. My hubs runs sound for the church my in laws are involved in so we go there by default but this past year I've taken a deep dive into theology and realize the pastor is a rabid zio nist and hard-core dispensational. It seems every service he reiterates 'J are God's chosen' and 'We support 🇮🇱. He's currently doing a 5 MONTH series on Rev and it's literally torture to sit through those services. 😅Channels like yours give me comfort and rest while I pray for God to show us our next steps as we are in the process of selling and moving from our current home. God Bless both of you. 🙏

A handful of book recommendations on the topic if I may: 😇 1. The most intellectually rigorous (philosophically astute etc.) book on suffering and evil from a Reformed perspective that I know of is Greg Welty's Why Is There Evil in the World? Welty has also recently 40 Questions about Suffering and Evil that should be equally good. James Anderson also has a good paper in the book Ruined Sinners to Reclaim titled "Whence Evil?". 2. There are a lot more pastorally helpful books on suffering and evil from a Reformed perspective. Such as: How Long, O Lord? (Don Carson); Trusting God When Life Hurts (Jerry Bridges); many of the Puritans; parts of Calvin's Institutes; etc. 3. Good hybrid books that attempt to combine the biblical, theological, practical or pastoral, and philosophical include: Mark Talbot's 4 part series, of which only two have been published (When the Stars Disappear and Give Me Understanding that I May Live); and Scott Christensen's What about Evil?: A Defense of God's Sovereign Glory and the same author's much shorter but still meaty Defeating Evil: How God Glorifies Himself in a Dark World which was adapted from the previous book What about Evil?: A Defense of God's Sovereign Glory.
