Thanks for the video. I’m an Alastin fan. I’m 63 and my dry skin has been getting sensitive lately. I got a sample of nectar and that product is heaven when you have red sensitive skin. Between that,watching your channel and research I bought the ultra nourishing moisturizer. Best purchase I ever made because it cleared up my dermatitis/eczema. Now I use the moisturizer, eye cream, retinol and the tinted sunscreen which I got as a bonus with purchase. I would like to try restorative skin complex but like the nectar it’s quite spendy. Eye treatment is a nice product too. I use it over Neogenisis eye serum. I’ll give a review on the retinol when I use it longer. ❤❤

I'd love to hear what you think of the retinol! You have a great skincare routine. The nectar and the restorative are the same in terms of trihex concentration. The main difference is that restorative is water based and nectar has no water. Counterintuitively, the ultra light is actually more hydrating and regenerating than the ultra nourishing.

Wonderful video - and not just for all the knowledge you shared, but including the highly enlightening information included in the comments! Over the years I’ve picked up great tips from content creators - but hearing recommendations from others who’ve used the products discussed has proven invaluable. I’ve noticed that the more intelligent, prudent viewers gravitate towards the more sophisticated, reputable channels - as is the case here. Thank you for providing such a well respected and trustworthy platform. 🏆

I’m presently using elastin, skin care I hydrant, permineralized, sunscreen, tinted, a game changer! I have not tried any other products because of this time I am under the Obaji new Durm regime and I’m very happy with the results. This sunscreen is my foundation now.

Hi Dr. Marie, loving your new videos! How do you feel about growth factors? Do you prefer peptides instead? Thank you!
@theocbeautymd

I do prefer peptides, specifically Alastin peptides. The reason is because I have seen the skin changes at the microscopic level. You can actually see the dermis changing in composition. I haven't seen studies like that with growth factors.

My skincare budget is mainly for skinbetter. I’ve been tempted to try an Alastin moisturizer because it’s easier on the wallet and still has some of trihex technology. My face just loves trio 🧘‍♀️💕

I've been using the Alastin A Luminate Brightening Serum for approximately 1 month. I'm preparing for lazor t/x. I have a lot of sun damage from my twenties. I think it's worth to spend the 168.00 to ensure my skin results in the best possible way. I'm hoping to see more results as time goes by.

I have stubborn hyperpigmentation that I developed in my 20's. I'm now in my early 40's. I have tried peels, lasers, creams. Nothing worked aside from hydroquinone. Recently, that stopped working for me. The Alastin brightening serum was recommended to me. I was really hoping I wouldn't like it because it is so expensive. It is more expensive than prescriptions covered by insurance. I have to say after three weeks my melasma has gotten lighter. I do also use a vitamin c serum and I find when I mix the two together it works even stronger. It does help to lighten the discoloration. It will not completely get rid of it but keep the darkness at bay. I hope it will work long term and not eventually stop working. I do not like the packaging. Consumers are paying for this fancy style bottle that has a weird top to open and close. The bottle is deceiving. It is hard to know how much of the product is inside. If they used a normal bottle the price would be probably be $50 less. It can be a little drying. It has helped to clean up acne on my face. My dermatologist said that Niacinamide has been said to work (there is not scientific proof) on hyperpigmentation and to look for products with 3% Niacinamide or higher. Alastin does not list the percentage and when I contacted them to ask they said they were not allowed to tell me. I do find that odd and not professional. Overall, I think it works but you have to give it time to see results.

That's great that you found something that works!! Our skin can become resistant to HQ so it's important to use it for no more than 5 moths at a time. Sometimes when people find HQ does not work, it's an oil problem, HQ will not penetrate oily skin. I agree the packaging of Alastin is wasteful. And it is true that it's difficult to find out concentrations because everything is "proprietary" but I will say this, niacinamide should be between 2-3%. Higher concentration can be irritating, and they do take this into account when formulating.

Normal bottle? This is airless packaging, the best way to store expensive formula. A “ normal” bottle with a simple pump would degrade it fast. Transparent bottles are tabu. God, people are so strange.

I am similarly afflicted and my patches were very dark on my light skin. Makeup could not cover it. I do all the right things, AHAs, retinol, vit C, niacinamide, layers of sunscreen, and I wear hats. What is working for me is meladerm by Civant. Its not gone but its helped more than anything else Ive tried. Its 62.00. They have just updated their formula to include tranexamic. I hope it is just as good because I still have the old formula. My derm said I could rotate back on to hydroquinone so I tried, but the pigment started coming back. So I switched back to meladerm and its going away again.

Thank you for your informative video. I want to say I tried the restorative skin complex and its so good I almost wish I hadn't! Its so expensive. I have premature under eye sagging I'm guessing due to pulling down that skin to put in a contact lens for the last 25 yrs? I have had thermage and I have tried all sorts of topicals. When I use the alastin I see a huge difference. In fact its the only topical that has made any real visible difference. I am sure my retinal and Vit C are helping and also preventing things from getting worse. But when I run out of the Alastin I see the difference. Actually it looked best when I used it twice a day but that's just too much money.

I have listened to your very helpful videos on the different lines. I currently use the ZO line (about 8 different products). I originally went to a professional that got me set up on a routine and I am still using the same products. I have been using ZO for over 4 years. The cost keeps going up and I estimate I am spending over $3K per year. My skin is very healthy now. Is there a line I could use and get good results from to maintain my skin health but not spend as much? Or maybe I could cut back and only use a few of the ZO products. I am 63 years old. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks.
