I've seen starbucks (a LOT of starbucks) and also Subway but not as much but like... So many different food places just in a Target and it's just you know... life. Walk into a target, there's a Starbucks or a Subway or i swear I've seen an Auntie Anne's in one before just... right by the doors. The one closest to me has a Starbucks on one side of the doors (by the bathrooms fittingly enough) and then on the other side behind all the cashier places I think there's something else but I never go there cuz I have no money to pay attention to whatever else is there. Okay, so from what I understand from past jobs, the "social security" lock is less about keeping the building safe and more about keeping a log of employee hours. Even if you're not opening/closing the building, you still have to clock in/out through the same system. It's the only way a social security lock could make sense; if it's not 'just' a lock.

I work at a cafe and James' story about the point system game based on how many ingredients the coworker could guess reminded me of something that happened recently. We have a drink called Blue Ocean or Blue Lagoon that is just blue curacao syrup and sprite, we ran out of the syrup so I put in several pumps of vanilla and french vanilla, and then cinnamon bun syrup. It sat for a bit so the ice melted a little and the whipped cream didn't look amazing, but the drink was green like the can of sprite used. I ended up adding lemonade, white chocolate syrup, raspberry black tea, and more. Thankfully I didn't add any milk or coffee, but either way the drink was a green and pink and after stirring it it became a dull pink. I was having my cowokers try it before I listed out the ingredients to them and one of my coworkers was so disgusted, which makes sense, I added stuff I didn't like and it didn't taste amazing. At some point my friend and her brother come in and order something, and I thought it'd be funny to introduce them to my concoction since the last thing I gave my friend was melon-flavoured and she didn't like it. After one sip her eyes widen and she hands it to her brother. As I list out the ingredients laughing, she and her brother pass the drink back and forth taking sips from it, wide eyes staring at nothing. By the time I get the drink back it's all gone, and my coworker in the back is talking to the other one "They heard all the ingredients and kept drinking!?" And that was my one free drink for the day all gone because my friend apparently liked it so much! So my coworkers allowed me to make myself some coffee for free lol. Either way, the only feedback I got was from a coworker saying it tasted like Six Flags, I thought it tasted too cinnamony which is not something I like.

Usually when people ask for that they mean in a lettuce wrap, which is the same thing as the burger but with all the ingredients wrapped up inside of a piece of lettuce like a burrito. It took some back and forth but she just wanted all of the ingredients, without the bun, stacked together and slapped on a plate, or in this case, a cardboard takeout box, and presumably eaten with a fork.

Ok, I can't do that myself because I'm not a manager and I don't know how to open it but let me get the manager and she'll open it for you. Here you go. Would you like a drink to go with that? Take note of as many details as possible. Then as soon as they walk out the door you call the police. If you refuse to fork over the cash, they can fire you because you'll be considered a liability. The reason for this? If the robber shoots you the company has to pay for the hospital bill. Also, I think if you know the protocol and don't follow it and you get shot, the company isn't liable bc you didn't follow their rules.

Sometimes people stealing things is just fully the dumbest thing possible. At the store I work at, there are some items we know would be easy to steal and cost enough that the store is like 'yeah, let's prevent that a little bit' so there will be display boxes or cards or whatever that you take to the register and then we go get the thing. The boxes and cards say they're for display and provide the directions. At least 4 times, I've either caught someone shoving display boxes down their pants or into their bags, or had somebody come through my register trying to return a display box for store credit.

I found out my first job at the KFC location I worked at for five years 2005-2010 was closing down and so went back with every intention to help close and clean. It was Christmas Eve 2018, and I ended up being too tired after a long shift at Chick-Fil-A, so just ended up reminiscing and taking pictures with the final crew. Was supposed to have a meet up with some of my old crew as well, but I think only one person showed up. It’s now a Gold Star Chili- a Cincinnati Chili Restaurant- and they only tore down the front lobby and remodeled it. The only other thing that changed is they opened up the kitchen area. Everything else is pretty much the same, from the old front door entrance, to the DT window and the kitchen area. No, we wouldn't code each alarm for each person based on social security. Social security is used as an identifier as it is unique to each person so even if they have a name change or the same names as someone else, you can never confuse them accidentally with that person so your history is always with you. It is also important because each person pays into social security and when you reach a certain age, you will be able to withdraw money and retire,

Having everyone have their own code is a safety thing, if somebody was to break in and use someone’s specific code then they know who to question first, my cafe i work at has the same thing, every manager has a different code for the alarm

Most disturbing customer I had while working at a hotel was a guy who thought I would be interested in knowing that he believed nazi were heros and that he was working to help there cause. I turned to him and said "sir u have two choices either go to ur room and sober up or get out. He stumbled away .

You tip at every restaurant. Fast food or otherwise. And at bars and stuff, I think. Because workers who work in fast food or food service business handle your food, it’s common to thank them by giving them a 15%-20% tip. The amount of the tip is based on the price of your meal, so you would pay the waiter 15/20% of what your food cost. Because it’s hard to work in retail and food jobs (because of crappy costumers), good people here in the US usually give waiters good tips as an extra thank you for your service. Plus there’s the added horror show that people who work in food get paid minimum wage (12-13 USD) which is barely enough for one of their own restaurants meals. Basically, tipping culture is an act of kindness and respect towards people who handle the things you eat because they can (and will) spit in your food if you treat them like crap or less than human, which they DO NOT deserve. If you’re crappy AND don’t leave a tip, next time you co there… prepare for really soggy French fries (some places just don’t have good French fries tho so idk)

Man, in what state is minimum wage $13-14, cuz I'd like to go there. Here it's a little over $7. The first job I got paid $14 and I felt like I was sitting in the lap of luxury and my current job now is $15 and that also feels like a steal. Most fast food places I see usually only pay up to $11, if that. Y'all got a nice minimum wage, wish we had that too (altho I wish all minimum wages in America were higher in general)

Oh yeah, we have fast food in supermarkets. Sometimes there is a McDonald's in the Walmart rather than Subway. Targets have Pizza Hut and Starbucks in them.

Of course our K-mart closed years ago but it had a Little Ceasars and most Targets around here have a Starbucks and a Pizza Hut Express.
