What a lovely piece. The harmonies did not always go where my ear expected, creating some moments of surprising, elegant beauty. It looks like a nice, learnable piece, too - a challenge but not too technically difficult - for the late intermediate/early advanced pianist. Thanks for bringing these lesser known pieces/composers into the spotlight.

Magical piece, beautiful melancholic melody, touching middle part, and also harmonies near the end are fantastic

The small detail, his late period in France started in 1927(8), not in 1923. Previously he lived in Prague where worked and teached in Ukrainian exile institutions.

There are two right forms of his name: Fedir Yakymenko (Ukrainian) and Theodore Akimenko (French).
